Apartment Building
Hrůza, Jan ; Hovořák, Dalibor (referee) ; Hlavačka, Tomáš (advisor)
The apartment building is located in Brno, Vojtova street. It´s a building with four overground floors and one underground floor, which is mainly used as collective garage. As a structural system is used reinforced concrete skeleton. The building has a single-layer flat roof.
Numerical simulations of interaction between fluid flow and rigid particles
Hrůza, Jan ; Tůma, Karel (advisor) ; Souček, Ondřej (referee)
The thesis describes the implementation of a numerical model that simulates the interaction between rigid particles and a fluid. The numerical model is based on the arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method, which uses the movement of the mesh to realize the movement of particles. The ALE method is initially presented on a simple problem of calculating the drag force acting on a single sphere moving through a viscous fluid. A general version of the model capable of simulating tens of particles is then described and tested on various benchmarks to prove the reliability of used method. Finally, a problem inspired by the flow of red blood cells in the blood is studied to show the effect of shear thinning emerging in a mixture of Newtonian fluid and rigid particles. 1
On the role of boundary conditions in the time periodic flow of incompressible fluid in tube
Hrůza, Jan ; Bulíček, Miroslav (advisor) ; Málek, Josef (referee)
The goal of this work is to find a solution to the problem of incompressible fluid flow in the pipe induced by a time periodic pressure gradient. Boundary conditions including a time derivative of velocity field are considered. This type of boundary conditions models a dynamic response of the fluid at the boundary and such behaviour can be used for example in molten polymers fluid modeling. First we look for a specific form of the solution using the Fourier method. The solution is decomposed into a linear combination of functions based on the Bessel function of zero order. We then study these functions in more details. Then we investigate the convergence of sequence of approximative solutions in the space of continuous functions and in the Lebesgue space. In proofs we use the properties of the Bessel function and in particular we investigate the distribution of the roots of Bessel function. We also use a numerical software to compute an approximative solution based on the Fourier method. 1
