Hnědkovská, Lucie ; Strouhal, Martin (advisor) ; Valášková Vincejová, Eva (referee)
The diploma thesis is written as a theoretical one. Its main topic and aim are the analysis of the concept of reading literacy, which has been a very lively topic for several years. It is mainly concerned with capturing the factors that influence it and with analysing the methods of primary reading practice and their possible influence on the results of literacy testing. In this context, the development of thought and language is also discussed through the lens of sociolinguistics. A sub-objective is a reflection on the meaning of international testing where groups of pupils from historically, culturally, socially, and economically different backgrounds are compared with each other. The work aims to promote an emphasis on reading from an early age.
