Evaluation of the burden and prevention of crisis and burnout syndrome of informal caregivers - parents taking care of their child with autism spectrum disorder

This rigorous thesis focus on the burden of informal caregivers taking care of children with autism spectrum disorder in a natural home environment. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of topics of informal caregivers, quality of life in general and quality of life of informal caregivers, specifics in communication and social interaction of persons with autism spectrum disorder, values and needs of the care recipients and the caregivers, and the role of the family in caring for a child with ASD. It also deals with crisis, crisis intervention, burnout syndrome and its prevention and treatment. The practical part is focused on the analysis and evaluation of the data of the quantitative survey, which took place with parents caring for their offspring with autism spectrum disorder, as respondents. The goal of my rigorous thesis is to find out the burnout rate of the target group. Create a simple tool for measuring the burden and state of burnout syndrome where the parents caring for a child with ASD are. Based on the results, propose appropriate procedures for the prevention or treatment of burnout syndrome for the target group. Support for informal caregivers taking care of their loved ones in home palliative care

The main topic of this diploma thesis is support of informal caregivers taking care for dying loved ones or loved ones with life-threatening illness in the home environment. The theoretical partis focused on informal carers, the quality of life of informal carers, the quality of life of dying people and quality of life of people with life-threatening diseases, death and the stages of coping with death. It also deals with hospice and palliative care, their forms, methods and uses. The practical part is focused on the analysis and evaluation of questionnaires filled out by informal carers. The aim of my diploma thesis is to point out the need to help informally caring for dying loved ones or loved ones with life-threatening illnesses. Within the practical part of this thesis, it was intended to map helpful and, conversely, deficit types and ways of support. These outputs can then be the basis for improving the quality of support and services for informal carers caring for a loved one in the home environment. Necessity of Crisis Intervention for informal caregivers

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is crisis intervention for people taking care of their close ones (informal caregivers). This paper focuses on informal caregiving for elderly, sick or disabled family members and personal crisis which is habitually accompanying long term caregiving. The theoretical part is focused on informal caregivers, quality of life of informal caregivers, crisis, typology of crisis, help during a crisis and crisis intervention (its principles, forms, possibilities, and application). Practical part contains an analysis and evaluation of questionnaires filled in by informal caregivers from the Czech Republic. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to point out the need to help informal caregivers in crisis situations that often accompany care. In the practical part of my work, my goal was to research the necessity of crisis intervention and the means that caregivers use in the crisis, be it formal or informal support from loved ones, as well as self-help in crisis.
