HOLLEROVÁ, Šárka
The main topic in the bachelor's thesis is about the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the aviation and airline industry in the first 2 quarters of 2020. The first part is dedicated to the research of literature, describing the airline industry as a whole, its many paths and factors that have an influence on it. In the thesis is mentioned even the negative parts that affected the aviation industry, that had similar impacts like the COVID-19 pandemic itself. The analytic part of the thesis is focused on analyzing aviation data from certain states of the world, mainly from the first 2 quarters of 2019 and comparing them with the other first 2 quarters of 2020, primarily about the amount of passengers and the number of final destinations. The data for the analysis was taken from the International Civil Aviaton Organization (ICAO) that goes by name On-Flight Origin And Destination, that offers information about airline paths all over the globe. The results of the analytic part informs us about the short-term or even maybe long-term global negative consequences for the aviation industry and perhaps drastic changes for the so far calm airline travel.
