How childhood toys and idols effect muscle dysmorphia in adulthood

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the influence of toys and idols during childhood to muscle dysmorphia in adults. The theoretical part presents general information about eating disorders and then it focuses on muscle dysmorphia and its aspects. The author than mentions drugs related to sport. Last chapters of the theoretical part are focused on body image and self-concept. In the empirical part, the author uses a questionnaire to find out if exposure to an above average muscular toys and idols can effect perception of ideal man's body in adults. The research group consisted of 461 respondents, all males. Research shows that respondents who were exposed to an above average muscular toys and idols achieve higher scores in questionnaire that deals with muscle dysmorphia, showing that they have different opinion on ideal male body than man who were not exposed.
