Refination of Needle Extracts of Siberia’s Fir
Heyberger, Aleš ; Rousková, Milena ; Gruber, Václav
The reports show results of laboratory and pilot plan tests on refining liquid extracts of coniferous trees wood to remove terpentine compounds by using a counter-current vibrating plates extraction column (VPE). The sizing of the requisite kapacity VPE is provited.
Recovery of Phosphors from WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electrotechnical Equipment)
Gruber, Václav
Recovery of valuable components from spent phosphors from WEEE by solvent extraction is described. Concentrate of phosphors from CRT displays or compact fluorescent lamps is leached by nitric acid and yttrium and europium are isolated by DEHPA extraction. Mercury is then precipitated from the raffinate.
Získávání sloučenin yttria a europia z odpadních luminoforů vznikajících při recyklaci CRT obrazovek
Gruber, Václav
In the recycling process of classical CRT displays a toxic waste containing spent phosphors is formed. The material is dumped without further treatment though the values of yttrium and europium are over 10 and 1%,respectively. The technology here proposed shows the method of isolation of both valuable components by liquid-liquid extraction. Dust or sludge is dissolved in nitric acid and yttrium and europium salts are extracted out from the leaching liqour by bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid. The final products are pure oxides of Y,Eu. Zinc carbonate forms a by-product and can be exploited in zinc metallurgy.
Recyklace paladia z polymetalických roztoků vznikajících loužením elektrochemického šrotu
Gruber, Václav ; Punčochář, Miroslav
In the present work, the rate of the reduction of divalent palladium with formaldehyde was determined in several inorganic solutions. The effect of temperature and Pd2+ concentration on the reaction rate is discussed, a simple kinetic model of the process is proposed and tested, and its parameters are calculated for specific conditions.
