Grígeľová, Barbora ; Šima, Karel (advisor) ; Lupták Burzová, Petra (referee)
My bachelor thesis focuses on the phenomenon of contemporary hipsters. We try to introduce and analyse this phenomenon based on two theoretical approaches of subculture studying, subcultural and post-subcultural theory. We separate it into two sections, theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part of this thesis focuses on the basic concepts of hipsters. It comparatively unites two scientific approaches - subcultural and post-subcultural theory and main thoughts of its representatives. We further define hipster characteristics and transition from its origin to its current state. Empirical part of this thesis contains analysis of collected data from qualitative research. This research was situated in Prague, the capital of Czech republic, and was done in a form of so called semistructured interview research. The goal of this section is to verify post- subcultural traits of hipster which are inferred from answers based on research questions.
