of Theology of marriage in the writings of Clement of Alexandria By Filip Foltán In this dissertation work called Theology of marriage in the writtings of Clement of Alexandria I assess an analyze of the writing called Stromateis. It points out marriage and its issues. The aim is to look at the issue in its historic context. In the first chapter, where is delt with the historical and theological matters I gradually and widely introduce the city of Alexandria with its religious and cultural thinking. At the end of the more general part I decribe the very person of Clement of Alexandria. In the second part of the first chapter I outline the issue of marriage in the historic and cultural therms. The second and third chapter is a discovery of the theological teaching of Clement of Alexandria about marriage. The second chapter introduces analyzed tracts and a diachronnic analyzis ,where are submited different specific teachings on marriage from the christian, phylosothical and cultural points of wiev. The third chapter is a synchronous analyzis, where are introduced the basic elements Clement's theology of marriage. The discoveries are summarized at the end of the writtings.
