Nonstationary vibrations of rectangular plate excited by concentrated force with linearly variable frequency
Náprstek, Jiří ; Fischer, Ondřej
Many physical and technical problems can be modelled as a rectangular plate with certain edge-supports, loaded by forces with variable frequency (e.g. machines in industrial buildings, electrodynamic systems). Such systems can be solved numerically using finite element method, i. e. solving the system of ordinary differnetial equations in time. In some practical cases of frequency-variation this problem can be solved analytically - the advantage of such a procedure is the objectivity and the possibility of parametric analyses of the problem.
In-class pronunciation of Czech secondary school English teachers
Fischer, Ondřej ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Gráf, Tomáš (referee)
The present thesis examines in-class pronunciation of Czech secondary school English teachers in relation to the international debate about goals and models of English pronunciation teaching. The theoretical part of the work briefly describes the phenomenon of a foreign accent, its sociolinguistic significance, and factors influencing its degree. Subsequently, it delineates segmental and suprasegmental aspects of English pronunciation relevant to Czech foreign accent, and discusses selected accents of English regarding their status in the eyes of non-native speakers and their suitability as models of pronunciation. The core of our study is an auditory analysis of pronunciation, based on recordings of speech of ten Czech secondary school teachers of English, obtained directly in class at four Czech secondary schools - two in Prague and two in Opava - using a lavalier microphone. The results of this analysis are compared to the results of questionnaires focused on these teachers' convictions and attitudes concerning pronunciation teaching. Our findings indicate that while the phonemes /r/, /w/ and /θ/ are easy for Czech teachers to realise in a standard manner, it seems that learners typically cannot acquire standard pronunciation of /ð/ and /æ/ only through listening to their teacher's...
Constancy as a Christian virtue
Halamová, Anna ; Halama, Jindřich (advisor) ; Fischer, Ondřej (referee)
The purpose of my thesis is to recapture and newly interpret constancy as a Christian virtue. In chapter one virtues which are often confused with constancy, mainly patience and persistence are dealt with. Chapter two deals with those principles of constancy, which are taken from stoic philosophy, namely goal, sence, reason and humility. These notions are used as the building stones for a renewed interpretation of constancy. Chapter three is focused od definition of faithfulness - as presented by Comte-Sponville - which is very similar to my definition of constancy. I try to prove that our concepts are different, especially because his exposition of faithfulness is rooted in his secular position. The conclusion of my discourse is that constancy is a virtue firmly connected with faith and therefore necessary for Christian life. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Špaček, Miroslav ; Keřkovský, Pavel (advisor) ; Fischer, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis deals with the theme of ethical problems and dilemmas we can meet when providing day care. The basic ethical norms for solving these problems are presented in the first part. Chosen ethical problems and dilemmas of various cases of day care practice are described in the next part. The attitude of the Law of Social Services as the basic legal norm for providing day care service in the Czech Republic follows each of the cases. Afterwards, each case is considered in the relation to the Ethical Code of social workers in the Czech Republic. This code contains ethical principles and the rules of ethical behaviour of a social worker towards the client, colleagues, employers and society. Then the care is judged from the point of view of some ethical theories. Next, the real solving of the case and its assessment from the point of view of the ethical norms of treatment is presented. The results of solving concrete situations are compared according to different ethical theories in the final part. This thesis does not include a questionnaire because of the individual attitude to the client and the theoretical orientation of this work. KEY WORDS The Law Of Social Services, The Ethical Code Of The Social Workers In The Czech Republic, day care, social worker, health visitor, client, the contract of...
