With the development of globalization and increased migration is also changing spectrum of patients encountered. The surgery can hear languages other than Czech and Slovak. increasingly hear English, German, Vietnamese, Spanish, but also less common languages such as Japanese, Portuguese, Arabic and many others. Claims for medical personnel is increasing. Her thesis topic of language barriers to prevention provision of health care I chose based on their long-term interest in socio-economic aspects of health care. In the collection of literature, I was surprised how much information and studies are available abroad, especially in the United States. A pleasant finding was that in our country is in this issue recently paid attention, at least in theory plane. Results from a small survey among healthcare facilities in the CR are not so positive, suggesting the possibility of further developments.
