The theoretical part of this Bachelor thesis provides general description of the nurses' personality and its brief evolution from the past until present time. Work in shifts and its effects on human organism contribute to the difficulty of this job, both on psychical and mental side. Main point of this issue is good work - life balance with stress on proper compensations of stressful events with effective relaxation and rest. Quantitative research is subject of the empirical part of the thesis. I focus on impacts of the nurses' profession and work in shifts on their lives. I was interested in subjective feelings of nurses working in shifts and how they perceive this issue. Additionally they were asked in what extend they are aware of the impacts of their work model on their lives.
