The goal of this thesis is the design of a Gymnasium (“Sokolovna”) situated in Brno. The thesis is composed of three parts – architectural and structural design, building services and measurements. The first part deals with building design, layout of rooms and materials design be. Building has two above ground floors, and it should be mainly used as a sports and cultural centre. On the first floor, there is a large gym, a vestibule, changing rooms for cultural events and a small canteen. On the second floor, which is intended mainly for sports activities, we can find bathrooms, changing rooms, a small gym and a room with bouldering wall. Main load-bearing material will be ceramic bricks. Other materials which we can find in the design are mineral wool, polystyrene, glass, concrete, wood etc. The second part of this thesis is focused on building services: heating, ventilation, lights, photovoltaic panels and rainwater management. The last part is devoted to measuring the photovoltaic panel with air fan. The measurement deals with the relation between the intensity of solar radiation and the outside temperature also with the difference between the outside temperature and surface temperature of the PV panel. An anemostat and datalogger were used to measure temperature and solar radiation. The results shows that the surface of the PV panel is absorbing, PV panel also can be used as an air collector and last result is that in winter, when the outside temperature is low it can be high intensity of solar radiation too, so PV panel it can be used in whole year.
