Tématem diplomové práce je legislativa týkající se svobodného přístupu k informacím, tedy Zákona 106/1999 Sb. a poskytování povinných informací na webech veřejné správy. Diplomová práce popisuje jednotlivé právní normy, které na Zákon 106/1999 Sb. navazují, včetně jejich legislativního vývoje a novelizací. Sleduje praktické plnění požadavků Vyhlášky č. 422/2006 Sb. (dříve Standardu ISVS 012/01.02) na konkrétních příkladech. Jako důležitá součást problematiky zveřejňování informací na webech je zmíněn též koncept přístupnosti webových stránek. Součástí práce je průzkum situace na webech měst a obcí ve vybraném okresu, ústředních orgánů a krajských úřadů a její kritické zhodnocení.

Service Design in Public Libraries

This thesis deals with service design in public libraries. The theses consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part describes the services in public libraries. Then basics and principles of design services are introduced. This is followed by an overview of service design tools and methods suitable for use in libraries. The practical part analyzes services of the Matěj Josef Sychra Library from a user perspective, using tools and methods of service design and some possible improvements of these services are suggested.

Accessing judicature with electronic sources

The purpose of the thesis is the accessibility of electronic sources of judicature in the Czech Republic. The thesis deals with publicly as well as commercially accessible sources. The publicly accessible sources are represented by NALUS which is administered by the Constitutional court, the retrieval system of The Supreme Court of the Czech Republic and the retrieval system of The Supreme Administrative Court. The commercially accessible sources are represented by the Beck online, ASPI and CODEXIS.All the sources taken into account are evaluated by the range of their content, the quality of search engine and user interface.

Developing information literacy in the high school environment: course syllabus draft on the example of Jan Palach's high school in Prague

Britain is the country with a long tradition of immigration. Over many years it witnessed the arrival of immigrants and refugees from the whole world. Nevertheless the unprecedented extent of immigration from the Commonwealth countries of the former British Empire after the Second World War was unexpected. It caused profound and irreversible change in the British society as a whole. This thesis deals with a description and interpretation of a series of key issuees related to immigration from New Commonwealth (especially from Indian subcontinent) in 1945-1971. Main reasons for "coloured immigration" were an increasing demand for low skilled and unskilled labour in United Kingdom and the 1948 British Nationality Act, which gave Commonwealth citizens right to enter, work and settle in the British Isles. I am concerned with issues of immigrants' employment, housing, education as well as with the attitudes and responses of indigenous whites. Even though the British consider themselves to be "tolerant people" immigrants faced up to prejudices, discrimination, racism, verbal abuse and physical attacks in Britain. White hostility toward coloured immigrants manifested itself in the form of the Notting Hill Riots in 1958. This thesis deals with history and activities of Ministery of Defence publishing house since 1997 - when this institution was named Military Information and Service Agency, transformed and renamed Presentation and business information center MoD in 2008 - until present times when it is known as Department of Communication and Promotion MoD bearing this name since 2011. The work focuses on both internal activities - internal organization, publishing activities, compilation of books - as well as external activities, such as setting position of this state publishing house on the book market and distribution of noncommercial publications.

Information needs of television journalists

Diplomová práce se zabývá oblastí informačních potřeb v české komerční televizní žurnalistice. Přináší odpověď na to, jaké má redaktor pracující v televizním zpravodajství informační potřeby a jak dosáhne jejich uspokojení. Součástí práce jsou podrobná analýza informační podpory (popis zdrojů žurnalistických informací, jakými jsou např. Česká tisková agentura - ČTK, respondenti, zpravodajský archiv, internet atd.) a průzkum v redakci zpravodajství televize Prima. Formou dotazníkového šetření byl zjišťován nejen rozsah a periodicita využívání informačních zdrojů, které redaktoři ke své činnosti potřebují, a ale i kvalita uspokojování jejich informačních potřeb. V závěru práce jsou navržena obecná doporučení, která by měla pomoci práci žurnalistů zefektivnit.

Abstract This doctoral thesis investigates information science, public policy, and law, via established system theory, to uncover how information education, and particularly information literacy, can be better developed in the Czech Republic. The theoretical focus is on concepts of information literacy, information education, and information competencies. This is complemented with case studies, investigating existing policies through grounded theory. The novel contributions to knowledge arising from this research are: (1) a new three-wave staged model of the evolution of literacies; (2) a promising methodology for creating and implementing effective literacy policies respecting these three waves; (3) three specific proposals, grounded in constitutional rights and obligations, for overcoming the lack of political and public interest in further developing information literacy at a national level. Current state of development of Czech eGovernment

This thesis deals with the implementation of basic registers of public administration in the Czech environment. The aim of the work is to analyze the current development project of the government and the causes of its origin within the overall context of the development of eGovernment in the Czech Republic. The thesis also includes a historical excursus into the issue of data records that are currently part of the system of basic registers. The last chapters of this work contain a brief analysis of local eGovernment concepts and basic public records data (inhabitans, businesses and local data) in the Slovak Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The aim of this work is to analyse an additional and extra services of libraries and their importance for attendance and financial benefits. Theoretical part describes marketing and its benefits for libraries, definition of a public library and services, brief analysis of financing libraries and analysis of some additional and extra services offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Practical part is devoted to analysis of history and the current situation in Tabor City Library and services it offers. There is also a research included in this section questioning whether readers know and use an additional and extra library services. This work presents analysis whether or not medium public library in the area of services meets reader's needs and also summary of additional and extra library services offered by Czech and foreign libraries. Analysis of the current state of information services in the field of theatre arts and their impact on public relations

With the aid of a "case study" research design, this thesis analyses the typology of informational services, whose prudent application can influence relations of institutions existing within the drama industry with the broader public. The theoretical part sheds light on the problematic definition of "information services", which is placed in the context of online marketing, and introduces ways, in which this term possesses an added value in the form of affecting the applied processes of public relations within particular institutions. Secondly, it includes basic methodological perspectives on quantitative research, the rules of performing case study research as the selected research design, and last but not least, it describes utilised methods of data collection. The last and most key part of the thesis is based on resulting application of the typology of information services, discussed in the previous parts, and concerns itself with the aforementioned question of their influence on public relation processes of individual institutions. These include the information portal divadlo.cz, which serves caters for the domestic sphere of theatre, and an official web presentation of the Divadlo na Zabradli theatre.
