Low floor apartment complex
Doležel, Ivo ; Párová,, Jitka (referee) ; Rusinová, Marie (advisor)
My thesis deals with a project documentation processing of a new building “ Low Floor Apartment Complex – Horoměřice”. All requirements strictly follow effective legal regulations. The complex is comprised of three objects arranged as the U-shape. The two-floor object A is a combination of masonry from reinforced concrete and a wooden structure. The object B is a single-storey wooden structure and the object C is a two-floor wooden structure. All these objects are covered by a two-coating counter roof. My thesis is a construction technical arrangement, which contains a fire safety report, a heat treatment, a layout plan, a proposal and a calculation of a strip foundation as well.
Konečné prvky v elektromagnetismu kompatibilní s De Rhamovým diagramem

Title: Finite elements for electromagnetics compatible with de Rham di- agram Author: Vojtěch Rybář Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics Supervisor: prof. Ing. Ivo Doležel, CSc. Abstract: The present work is devoted to the lowest-order finite elements for solving time-harmonic Maxwell's equations in two dimensions. Suc- cessful approximation of these equations requires the finite element spaces to be compatible with the de Rham diagram. However, the most often used basis functions (the Whitney functions) do not comply with this diagram. Therefore, we construct compatible bases and study their prop- erties. Since the construction is not unique, we investigate the influence of the particular choice on the conditioning of the corresponding finite element matrices. Finally, we utilize the special structure of the stiffness matrices, propose a few iterative schemes, and compare their convergence. Keywords: Maxwell's equations, edge finite element, de Rham diagram, finite element basis 1

Solving Nonlinear Coupled Problems Using Agros2D
Kůs, Pavel ; Karban, P. ; Mach, F. ; Doležel, Ivo
The paper describes the environment of the Agros2D code and presents several nonlinear coupled problems solved numeri-cally in this environment.
Laser hardening variables prediction by mathematical model
Kotlan, V. ; Karban, P. ; Doležel, Ivo ; Ulrych, B.
The paper deals with modeling of the laser hardening with the aim to anticipate the process of hardening and estimate the properties of the hardened body without expensive experiments.
Actuator with Ferromagnetic Plunger Working in Ferrofluidic Liquid
Ulrych, B. ; Doležel, Ivo ; Polcar, P.
An electromagnetic actuator with a plunger moving in a ferrofluidic liquid is suggested and modeled. The paper analyses its principal operation characteristics.
Active thermal insulation for induction heating of specific metal parts
Ulrych, B. ; Kotlan, V. ; Doležel, Ivo
The concept of active thermal insulation is explained and its application for induction heating of specific metal parts is analyzed. Its features ale illustrated by a typical example whose results are discussed.
Adaptivity techniques in hp-finite element method
Karban, P. ; Doležel, Ivo ; Šolín, Pavel
Sophisticated methods of automatic adaptivity in finite element methods of higher order of accuracy are presented. The main attention is devoted to hp-adaptivity techniques that exhibit the highest level of flexibility and exponential convergence of results.
Hard-coupled model of local direct resistance heating of thin sheets
Karban, P. ; Mach, F. ; Doležel, Ivo
A monolithic model of local direct resistance heating of thin sheets is presented. The model respects all nonlinearities of the system such as the temperature dependencies of physical properties of individual parts of the system. Numerical computations are performed by a finite element method of higher order of accuracy and realized by our own codes Hermes2D and Agros2D. The methodology is illustrated by a typical example whose results are discussed.
MHD Pumps of Molten Metals – Innovation of Cooling Loops of High-Temperature Nuclear Reactors
Doležel, Ivo ; Ulrych, B. ; Valenta, V.
Possible exchange of classical mechanical pumps used in cooling loops of nuclear reactors by pumps working on the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) principle is investigated. Operation of the MHD pumps is analyzed in two types of newly built nuclear reactors. The results are evaluated and discussed.
