Reflection of Czechoslovak events of 1968 in Finnish literature

This bachelor thesis examines the response of the Czechoslovak year 1968 by Finnish literature across all literary forms. The work consists of two parts. The first one focuses on the historical context of the events known as Prague Spring. The second part that is also the main one presents authors and their works, in which they thematised the occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968 and its consequences. The methodology of this work is based on the analysis and following interpretation of the symbols and motifs in those works that are connected with August 1968. The aim of this work is to analyse and compare various views of Finnish authors regarding this historical event.
