Bibliologist and literary historian Flora Kleinschnitzová (1891-1946)

This bachelor thesis deals with an important personality of Czechoslovak bibliology, literary historian Dr. Flora Kleinschnitzová (1891-1946). This work focuses on her life and writings, in which she documented especially the fate of the Tycho de Brahe Library, bohemica in Swedish libraries, Czech-Swedish literary relations and Czech 19th century writers. Special emphasis is put on her activities in today's National Library from 1919 to 1944 and also on her writings in a field of bibliology. The starting point of this thesis is a professional biography of Flora Kleinschnitzová and an overview of her published writings, especially in the context of her contribution to Czech bibliology. The aim of this thesis is to introduce her professional life and bibliological and literary historical works. In terms of methodology, the thesis a creative compilation supplemented by archival research. Besides the biographical literature and the works of Flora Kleinschnitzová, especially materials from her estate and annual reports of today's National Library were used.
