Motivation to Lower Secondary School Teachers' Continuing Education in the Field of ICT Use

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse the motivation of lower secondary school teachers for continuing education in the field of ICT use. The work focuses on definition and basic characteristics of the profession of primary school teacher. Furthermore, it deals with the possibilities and form of training of primary school teachers in the field of ICT and its specifics. Attention is paid to the participation of lower secondary school teachers in educational activities. An integral part of the thesis is a chapter dealing with motivation and barriers of lower secondary school teachers' participation in continuing education in the field of ICT use. The thesis includes qualitative empirical research. Its aim is to identify the motives and barriers to participation of lower secondary school teachers in continuing education in the field of ICT. The intention of the research is to explore the phenomenon of motivation in lower secondary school in selected smaller towns in the Czech Republic. Results of the research suggests that research should be paid more attention on the phenomenon of lower secondary teachers' motivation for continuing education in the field of ICT use.
