Liquid discharges of 14C in the Czech nuclear power plants and estimation of their radiological impacts
Chvátalová, Barbora ; Kotlík, Josef (referee) ; Čáslavský, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the determination of 14C activity in liquid discharges from the Czech nuclear power plants and with the estimation of their radiological impacts on the vicinity of nuclear power plants. This work summarizes the issue of 14C liquid discharges of several nuclear power plants in the world and Czech nuclear power plants are compared to them. The sewage routs of liquid discharges from control tanks to waste water station are described in this thesis for both power plants - Dukovany and Temelín. Measured values of the 14C activity in liquid discharges from nuclear power plants Temelín and Dukovany are presented in this work. The procedure for calculating the exposure of representative persons as a result of liquid discharge of 14C activity is described in this thesis. The resulting values of annual commited effective dose for each age category of representative persons are presented in this work.
Preparation and Characterization of Drug Carrier Systems on the Basis of Magnetic Nanoparticles
Chvátalová, Barbora ; Burdíková, Jana (referee) ; Kalina, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the study of magnetic nanoparticles, optimizing their preparation and stabilization. The nanoparticles with different ratios of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions were prepared by coprecipitation by variously concentrated sodium hydroxide. Three samples of particles were selected and were further observed. Their stability in Milli-Q water, buffer, polyvinylalcohol, hyaluronic acid and chitosan was studied in function of time using methods of dynamic and electrophoretic light scattering. By UV-VIS spectrometry it was confirmed that the magnetic nanoparticles were actually prepared. Nanoparticles coated with chitosan and hyaluronic acid were then further characterized using FT-IR, XRD and SEM.
Trade Receivables in a Business Corporation
CHVÁTALOVÁ, Barbora
This Bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of receivables arising from business relationships in a selected busi-ness corporation. The given business corporation has been selected for this study due to the fact that it holds a significant position on the market specialized in the electricity generation. Furthermore, this corporation has also its business activities abroad. This thesis describes various options of preventing vulnerable areas within receiv-ables and suggests solutions of dealing with such issues. The aim of the research is the efficiency evaluation of receivables management in the corporation followed by the suggestion of possible solutions related to question-able and irrecoverable debts. The outcomes of this thesis may be beneficial to the manager of the business de-partment in the selected corporation. In its conclusion, the thesis offers suggestions and recommendations to improve the accounts receivable management.
