Domestic Violence - Focus on Aggressors

This bachelor ́s thesis deals with the issue of domestic violence and strives to describe why domestic violence represents a serious threat to families and society as a whole. It emphasises the importance of facing the problem of domestic violence in a comprehensive way: from the angle of victims as well as aggressors. Predominantly, the thesis focuses on perpetrators, aggressors, violent persons and individuals with behavioural problems. This field has been substantially neglected in the Czech Republic, and that is why this particular segment of persons was selected as the main subject. The thesis aims to develop a field study which would map a current status of work with this target group in our country. For the purpose of facing the issue of domestic violence, prevention of domestic violence as such and prevention of its relapse are equally crucial. However, the Czech Republic has a highly limited experience in treating aggressors and no literature and/or expert studies are available. Consequently, the practical part of this thesis is based on experience from abroad. The Summary presents a discussion elaborating on possible ways which would help to achieve the overall aim, especially in participation with the state, nonMprofit nonMgovernmental organizations and the public.
