Social determinants and health perception of selected groups of immigrants Abstract With the increasing number of migrants arriving in the Czech Republic, it is very important to deal with their health and health related factors. The aim of this thesis is to emphasize migrants' health and expand the knowledge in the area of health perception and social determinants of health among selected groups of migrants based on previously collected data from questionnaire surveys. The data were collected by the Geographic Migration Centre's research team and have already been analysed and subsequently published. However, mainly the migration behaviour was analysed without a focus on health and its determinants. This analysis is based on data of 284 Moldovans living in the Czech Republic and Italy which were collected in 2017-2018; data of 252 Ukrainian migrants from 2012; data of 682 Vietnamese and Ukrainian migrants from 2013. Health perception is characterized by the variable self-rated health. By using binary logistic regression and ordinal regression methods there were revealed significant determinants of health perception, including socio-demographic characteristics (such as gender, age, education, and marital status), spending time with people in the host country, language proficiency, income, and financial...

The current situation of tuberculosis incidence and mortality in selected African states Abstract This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of tuberculosis incidence and mortality in eight African states, which are on the list of high burden countries (Angola, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria, South Africa, Zimbabwe). The aim of this work is to describe the current situation of tuberculosis incidence and mortality in these states and evaluate the development of the level of tuberculosis incidence and mortality in the period of 2000-2017. Further, work evaluates the current situation of multidrug resistant tuberculosis and the results of treatment. Since we are focusing on the developing countries, where the data availability is not always good, we will also focus on the problem of data availability in our selected states. Based on the analytical part of this work, we can conclude that most of the selected states probably will not be able to achieve the 80% reduction in the tuberculosis incidence rate, compared with levels in 2015.
