Rohatec Special Regime Home
Molčanová, Viktorie ; Todorov, Petr (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The assignment of the thesis is to design a special care facility/home. The project of this facility is a direct response to the tornado-damaged S-Centrum building in Hodonín. Preceding this assignment is a pre-diploma project, which addresses a new building from an urbanistic perspective - analyses, integration into the surrounding development, and connection with the planned forest park. The area is ideally located on the outskirts of the municipality along a road leading to the city of Hodonín. An added advantage is its proximity to the forest, where terrain and garden improvements are planned, creating a new forest park with a lookout point. Due to the orientation of the plot to the north, there is the possibility of sunlight reaching the residential and communal areas from almost all sides. The shape of the building resembles the letter U, thus appearing open towards the forest. A park, vegetable gardens, pétanque, and seating areas are proposed between the building and the forest, while at the eastern end, it connects with the planned forest park via a gate. The connection with the building is from Nové řádky street, where the existing access to the plot is located, and the main entrance to the building is also oriented towards this street. Due to the height regulations in the municipality’s zoning plan (maximum 3 floors or 2 floors + attic), 3 floors with a basement are proposed, which is utilized for underground parking. The main goal of the design was to strengthen the capacities for providing social services in the special care facility/home, create a quality environment for patients and employees, and provide maximum integration with the surrounding nature.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to propose a study of a facility for a specialized care home. The starting point for the assignment is the development of a pre-diploma project that addresses a new facility from an urbanistic perspective – analyses, integration into the surrounding development, and connection with a planned forest park, commissioned by the municipality of Rohatec. The area is located on the outskirts of the municipality along the main road leading to the city of Hodonín, directly adjacent to forest lands where the municipality plans to establish a new forest park with a lookout point. The combination of the floor plan shape, resembling the letter M, and the orientation of the plot with respect to the cardinal directions, allows for ensuring adequate daylighting in all residential areas of the facility. Additionally, situating the facility on the northern boundary of the plot not only provides privacy for the residents when using the garden but also encourages them to take walks in the garden, thanks to the placement of continuous pathways commonly designed for specialized care homes for seniors with dementia. Other elements included in the garden are thoughtfully designed nooks for the clients' privacy during relaxation, as well as an outdoor gazebo with a fireplace, surrounded by a birch grove creating a pleasant and tranquil atmosphere. On the eastern side of the garden, there is a utility garden with specially designed raised beds and greenhouses for growing seasonal fruits and vegetables. The plot is accessible from Nové řádky street, where the main entrance to the building and access to the adjacent parking lot are located. Due to the height regulation of the development in the municipal zoning plan (maximum of 3 above-ground floors or 2 above-ground floors + an attic), three above-ground floors and one underground floor, designated for operational purposes, are proposed. The main goal of the proposal was to increase capacities for providing social services focused on specialized care homes, creating a quality environment not only for clients but also for employees, and maximizing integration with the surrounding nature.

The subject of the master’s thesis was to design an architectural study of a new building for a home with a special regime in Rohatec. This request was made in response to the tornado-destroyed building of the S-center in Hodonín. The request required the design of a multi-functional facility with a private garden for 90 patients and 100 staff working over two shifts. The selected land is located at the end of Rohatec, mostly surrounded by forest and a few family houses. At the same time, it‘s located by the main road, so it‘s easily accessible by everyone. The building is designed as a 3 story building with a flat roof and underground parking in the shape of an open U. The shape of the building itself is a compromise between the shape of the land, layout requirements for this type of facility, capacity requirements, and height restrictions according to the master plan. The shape allows for the creation of a private residential garden for the residents of the home, which is closed from the road, with a possible gate connection to the future forest park. The passage between the garden and the building will be enabled by a terrace around the entire perimeter of the inner side of the building. The individual home wings also enable layout separation of the individual departments needed for smooth building operations. Dispositionally, the home has a pharmacy open to the public, an underground parking lot, inpatient and administrative departments, a kitchen with a dining room, a cafe with a buffet, a library, a chapel, a part designated for therapy and space for mani-pedi with a hairdresser, rehabilitation with a gym, and more. The necessary technical background for the operation of the building, workshop spaces, a laundry room with a dryer, an ironing room, and storage rooms are also designed here.

The subject of my design is an architectural study of a new special regime home in Rohatec on Nové řádky Street. It is a healthcare facility offering institutional care, complemented by supportive services. The building will provide institutional care capacity for 90 clients. Staffing is designed for two shifts, each consisting of 50 employees. It is a standalone, three-story building with a basement. All buildings are covered with flat green roofs. Broadly, the facility is divided into a main building, which primarily contains patient wards and directly related services, and a secondary building, which houses facilities used by clients intermittently. The main building includes five patient wards. Additionally, the main building contains supportive services such as administrative offices, a pharmacy, common rooms, technical spaces, and underground parking. The secondary building includes common rooms, a dining area, kitchen operations, and spaces for physical exercise and rehabilitation.

The subject of this master's thesis is a study of the construction of a special regime home in Rohatec. The aim was to create a proposal for a healthcare facility for institutional care supplemented by support services. The care home is designed to accommodate 90 clients and two shifts of fifty staff members each. The site under consideration is located on the outskirts of the village of Rohatec within the residential area of family houses. The site consists of three parcels (38/3; 38/5; 37/3) owned by the region and one parcel (40/2) owned by the Czech Republic's Forests. Parcel 37/3 currently contains a family house, which will be demolished. Parcel 38/3 contains a regulatory gas station, which will be relocated off-site for the purpose of the new construction, while ensuring public access. The forest protection zone of 50 meters will be exceptionally reduced to 0 meters with the consent of the Forests of the Czech Republic to enable construction on the site. The proposed building is in compliance with the zoning plan. The proposed new construction is a standalone, basement building that respects and also concludes the street line of family houses. The building has three above-ground floors and one underground floor. The main entrance to the main building is oriented from the northwest at the level of the ground floor from Nové řádky Street. The main entrance to the garages is oriented from the southwest at the level of the basement floor from Cihelny Street. The main exit from the collective garages is on the northeast facade of the building at the level of the basement floor leading to Nové řádky Street. The maximum height of the main building is +15,500 meters (object access to the elevator). Parking is mostly provided in the underground garage of the building. Another 13 public parking spaces are located along the road on Nové řádky Street. Two of these spaces are reserved for disabled and rapid admission or for ambulance access. Along the northeast boundary of the plot adjacent to the forest, there is a cascading garden with four height levels connected by gentle ramps with a slope of 1:20 and stairs. The first level directly connects to the ground floor level and serves as a social outdoor center with a pétanque court, tables for playing games, dining, resting benches, and flower beds with herbs and perennials. The second level consists of recreational stairs with space for various outdoor performances and a section with exercise machines for seniors. The third level is spiritual. There is a small meditation area here. The last level is consistent with the original terrain. It serves as a quick connection to the forest park and operational ramp from the garages. In the garden, there are two stepped ponds around the leveling ramps, which will cool the climate of all levels of the garden. Elevated flower beds with fragrant perennials or herbs and benches with a view of the forest permeate the entire garden.
Porta Coeli complex - new use of selected objects
Grünwald, Jakub ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis was to develop a proposal for the restoration of the Porta Coeli complex in the village of Předklášteří near Tišnov. It is the last functioning female Cistercian monastery in the Czech Republic. The area is currently undergoing gradual restoration under the management of Bernardium, s.r.o. and with the generous help of the Association of Volunteers for Porta Coeli. Slowly but surely, both religious and secular life is being restored to this important cultural and historical monument. The thesis focuses mainly on selected buildings that formerly served economic and industrial purposes. Some of these buildings have already been repaired and have found other uses. Others have been used either inappropriately or not at all and have been dilapidated for a long time. The Porta Coeli Monastery has its own distinctive Genius loci and should provide a unique spiritual and peaceful atmosphere for visitors who wish to spend time here and reect on themselves and the world around them. The focus of my work has become the westernmost part of the site, where I see great potential. This picturesque but somewhat forgotten place is dominated by a massive Baroque granary and the sheepfold building adjacent to it. The aim of my design is to nd a suitable functional use for these historic buildings and their surroundings that will meet the requirements of today and help breathe new life into this magical place. With the help of new architectural interventions that take into account the normative requirements of today's legislation, I am making the buildings accessible to the general public and at the same time pointing out the historical and architectural values that our ancestors left us. The second theme on which I have focused my attention is the southern part of the site. Here, on the basis of a conversation with the monastery administrator, I am proposing a new wood-chip incinerator. The input product will be biomass from the local timber industry, which the monastery is currently actively engaged in. The purpose of the new building is primarily to address the energy consumption of the existing and proposed buildings on the site.
Water and Sports Centre Pisárky
Prachárová, Adriána ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
According to the assignment, it is a building meant for needs of members of the rowing team, and should act as their training facility, with dressing rooms and spaces for meetings. Besides this purpose, the building should act as a public building and therefore be used by the public. During the design process, it was important to comply with the demands of the rowing team, and bring them an optimal space for training, as well as attract the public towards sports. There are plans for a new training canal, in the plot where the building is placed, and so the design took inspiration in the shape of the canal and translates it into its rounded shape at the front. There is a café and dressing rooms along with kanoe storage on the ground floor, as well as technological room. The second floor offers a massaging room, physiotherapy, multifunctional room, three offices and adjacent kitchen with terrace. These will be available for rent. The floor below ground contains a gym. There are also dressing rooms, wellness, and a training pool for rowing with its own technological room. The one thing that is supposed to catch attention are walls made with Profilit, which is a glass profile that is embedded into aluminium frame. These glass walls are used instead of regular windows and complete the round façade facing the canal. The whole plot of land is meant to be used for recreation, there will be exterior courts for playing sports and paths along the river which neighbours said plot. There will also be plenty of spaces for sitting, especially along the training canal so people can come and cheer for their favourites.
Autocentrum Volkswagen Group
Bigas, Alexandr ; Kotek, Jakub (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation of the required drawing documentation for the DSP and DPS of the new building of the Volkswagen Group Autocentre. The work is based on the requirements of the assignment, which was submitted in the second year in the studio of industrial constructions. The work consists of an assignment, drawings, text documents, architectural study, cadastral situation and others. The addressed area is part of the cadastral territory of Komárov. The building plot is bordered in the eastern part by Hněvkovského street and in the southern part by Sokolova street. The terrain of the plot is mainly flat, on the borders with the mentioned streets it sharply approaches their level. The land is not currently being used in any way. The object is a building that is designed to enable the operation of passenger cars due to its function. The car center is made up of parts such as a showroom, service and sanitary facilities. Due to the different operation of these parts, the individual functions were physically separated. The color and material solution was chosen with regard to the technical nature of the building. In terms of layout, the object is conceptually divided into three units. The showroom includes the sale of new cars, the sale of spare parts, the provision of advice and the operation of the administrative department on the second floor. The whole service includes all workplaces dealing with repairs, washing, painting, storage and other operations. These separate operations are connected by a sanitary facility, which contains sanitary facilities for employees and customers.

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the development of documentation for a building permit and part of the documentation for the construction of the Volkswagen Group car center building. The proposal is directly based on the assignment of the subject BGA021 – Studio of production buildings, and follows on from the studio project processed in the winter semester of the second year. The new building is located in the Brno-Komárov district, at the intersection of Hněvkovského and Sokolova streets, and its location makes use of a lucrative position. The car center building combines a service and showroom with an administrative part. With its internal arrangement, it effectively separates these two different operations so that they do not interfere with each other and at the same time they can cooperate. Exterior, on the other hand, tries to connect these operations into a seamless whole. This is to be achieved by the repetitive verticality freely transitioning from the shading system of the showroom to the copilite glazing of the service. The internal layout of both parts of the building is designed taking into account the rapid development of the automotive industry and is maximally flexible. The showroom is intended as a monumental elevated space with an exposed roof structure and a minimum of fixed elements. The service is similarly designed as an open workshop area, only unclean or noisy operations and storage areas are separated.

The task of this project was to design a new building for Autocentrum Volkswagen. The architectural study for this project was already developed in the second year, within the workshop of production buildings. Now, the project has been transformed and elaborated at the level of documentation for building permit and implementation project documentation. The purpose of the building is the sale of new and servicing of used vehicles under the brands Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, and Škoda. The building site is located in Brno, Komárov, an undeveloped area bordered on the east by the busy Hněvkovského street and on the south by Sokolova street. The basic mass of the building consists of two blocks. In the main, dominant part, there is a showroom for selling new cars, administrative offices, and the facility's background. The showroom facade is made of a glazed lightweight perimeter shell, equipped with sunshades from the south to prevent glass overheating. The main entrance, oriented from Hněvkovského street, is recessed into the building, creating a new public space. The smaller part of the building houses the service for used vehicles, featuring a green roof and a facade suitable for greenery growth.
