Verification of the reference limits of basic biochemical examinations.

The topic of my bachelor thesis is the practical application of the verification procedure according to the recommended professional literature as to verify the reference limits / intervals (RI) reported by a manufacturer or other donor laboratory. The purpose of the verification procedure is that RI found out elsewhere or taken from research is transferable to a particular medical lab, with meaningful reliability by examining a relatively small number of reference individuals (n = 20). Data from 20 routine clinical-biochemical methods were used in this verification process. This work suggests, that selecting reference individuals, is better performed with meaningful diagnostic units, and that only those individuals who have previously had physiological values in the case of diagnostically complex analytes would to be included in the selection for a specific reference.
