Selected Aspects of Speech Care in Preschool Children and Juniors

Summary The thesis entitled Selected Aspects of Speech Care in Preschool Children and Juniors is focused on the survey of the methods of speech care in children in kindergartens and junior classes of primary schools. In the theoretical part the basic concepts are defined. It is described how the proper development of speech should take place from the birth till its fixing. In three main chapters problems of speech development in specific periods are outlined and the most frequent speech defects and their corrections are revealed. In the practical part hypotheses were set and the research was made. Its aim was to chart the speech care which is provided in kindergartens and in junior classes of primary schools. The questionnaire was designed for parents who attend speech therapy with their children. The survey was realized in the surgery of clinical speech therapy in Bílovice nad Svitavou and in Brno ? Šlapanice. The purpose of the survey was to find out which speech defects are the most frequent at that age and which role gender plays. Parents awareness about their child´s speech defect and the success rate of the improvement was detected. One of the aims was to find out how the speech pattern in the family influences the impaired ability to communicate. The survey was evaluated and conclusions that are processed in the practical part in charts and tables, were drawn.
