Evaluation of the machinability of material produced by additive manufacturing
Bílek, Richard ; Drbal, Martin (referee) ; Kolomý, Štěpán (advisor)
This bachelor thesis evaluates the machinability of high strength maraging steel M300, which is produced in three types of samples. Two samples were additively manufactured by Selective Laser Melting, one of which was subsequently heat treated. The third sample was produced by conventional rolling. Testing was carried out by milling under different cutting conditions. In the practical part the resulting chips were taken and hardness of individual samples, then the individual cutting forces during machining, surface roughness and the flank wear were measured. The measured data and chips morphology were further analysed and evaluated. The output of the work is a recommendation of the appropriate cutting speed for machining the additively manufacturing maraging steel M300.
