Regional models of lithospheric subduction
Androvičová, Adela ; Čížková, Hana (advisor) ; Běhounková, Marie (referee)
Processes within subduction zones have major influence on the plate dynamics and mantle convection. Subduction process is influenced by a combination of many parameters and there is no simple global relationship between the resulting slab geometry and deformation and any specic subduction parameter. In the present work we perform a parametric study of the slab dynamics in a two-dimensional model with composite rheology including diffusion creep, dislocation creep and stress limiting rheology or Peierls creep. In our model, the separation of the subducting and overriding plates is ensured by a layer of a low viscosity material. We are particularly interested in the effect of the contact of subducting and overriding plate on the plate geometry in the upper mantle. We also study the influence of a surface boundary condition and the rheologic parameters of the plate. Model results are applied to the Kermadec subduction zone. We show that the model that best fits the observed morphology and plate velocities is the model with viscosity of crust of 1020 Pa.s, yield stress of 108 Pa and with a viscosity jump by a factor of 10 at the depth of 660 km.
Economic analysis of the company Dřevoterm, s.r.o.
Androvičová, Adela ; Vávrová, Hana (advisor) ; Slunčík, Peter (referee)
Economic analysis investigates certain economic subject by using variety of different economic and mathematical-statistical methods and procedures. In the present work we perform economic analysis of wood producing company Dřevoterm, s.r.o. for the years from 2007 to 2011 based on externally available data. From approaches of economic analysis we use methods of financial analysis including analysis of absolute and relative financial ratios, pyramidal decomposition of financial ratios and global indexes of financial health. Further we analyze net working capital, costs and stocks of the company in detail. Obtained results are discussed in context of theoretically optimum values, average results of the whole wood producing industry and external factors which influenced analyzed company during past years. The results show that despite growing revenues of the company the majority of calculated indicators scored with a worsening trend and the company should focus primarily on reducing cost of revenues.
Discrimination on labour market, gender wage gap
Androvičová, Adela ; Macáková, Libuše (advisor) ; Nečadová, Marta (referee)
The issue of gender equality as a part of more general problem of equal opportunities has become a horizontal problem of the European Union. Despite the general interest and different actions, the inequality between men and women on labour market is still strong. In the present work we study gender inequalities on the labour market in the Czech republic and Slovak republic in the context of situation on the labour market in the European Union. We study the main indicators of gender inequalities on labour market: employment and unemployment rate of men and women. The next important indicator is a gender pay gap, which is related to horizontal gender segregation of labour market according to sectors of national economy and vertical segregation, which we will study on the example of managerial functions. We show that there are significant gender inequalities on the labour market in the Czech republic and Slovak republic and for majority of indicators these two countries are behind the average of the European Union.
