Andrle, Jiří ; Valášek, Petr (advisor) ; Hrabě, Petr (referee)
The goal of this work is to analyse materials and technologies used in casting process in the automotive industry. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part describes materials udes for castings. There are described ferrous materials - cast iron and tempered iron, and lightweight alloys that are increasingly used - aluminium, magnesium and titanium alloys. The next section describes casting technologies used in the manufacturing process of the car, including the innovative methods that are being implemented to automobile manufacturing process. The last part is dedicated to the development and innovation of casting technology. In particular, the simulation of casting process using computer programs that are capable of realistically simulating the course of casting.
