ADÁMKOVÁ, Martina
Bachelor thesis named "Composition of daily diet for adults with pathological BMI" deals with the issue of overweight and obesity. In theoretical part, I first analyzed individual components of nutrition, requirement of energy, fluid intake and food pyramid. Then I described overweight and obesity, body mass index, single types of obesity, methods for body fat detection, obesity complications, diseases and treatment. Here I was most focused on describing appropriate and inappropriate diet while reducing weight and diet composition during the day. Detecting intake of energy and macronutrients of monitor selected respondents with overweight and obese according to the BMI and subsequent discovery of their physical activity were the main goal of study. Another aim compares detected values with recommended values for given respondents. There was chosen qualitative research for processing of the research method. The research group consisted of 20 respondents aged 20-65 years. Each of them received an answer sheet where you fill the data about their height, sex, weight and occupation. Subsequently, for one week, there was recorded the type and quantity of received food and fluids, and a physical activity. Consumed food and drinks were noted and after returning of record sheets were assigned into the "Nutriservis Professional", which calculated energy intake and individual macronutrients, like proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Ideal weight of each respondent, I detected by using BMI. For each of them, I calculated from gathered data of gender, age, height and ideal body weight according to the Harris-Benedict formula, the recommended energy intake, which I multiplied by a factor of physical activity. Then, with help of the book called "reference values for nutrient intake", I calculated recommended amount of protein, fat and carbohydrates. These values were compared with actual energy intake values and macronutrients in the diet of respondents. I found out, that almost every one of them has an abundance of energy, protein, fat and carbohydrates. The results are compiled in tables and plain text.
