Streptophytic Algae with a Focus on the Class Zygnematophyceae
Špička, Jan ; Soldán, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Ráček, Jan (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with streptophyte algae, with special attention given to the class Zygnematophyceae. The thesis is written as a literature review, aiming to summarize existing knowledge about streptophyte algae, particularly focusing on the class Zygnematophyceae. Additionally, the thesis elucidates the phylogenetic relationships within this group, which historically have been challenging. The thesis primarily focuses on the description, ecology, and taxonomy of streptophyte lineages, emphasizing their significance in the study of terrestrialization, or the colonization of land. A significant part of this thesis is therefore to highlight the ecological and evolutionary role of streptophyte algae, especially in the context of their adaptation to terrestrial environments. An additional aim of the thesis is to address the issues associated with the group of algae, given their inconsistent definition. The thesis points out that algae do not form a monophyletic group, as they encompass various taxonomic lineages. This thesis can serve as a foundation for further research in the field of algology, thereby contributing to a better understanding and orientation in the process of terrestrialization. It also indicates the need for more phylogenetic studies to enhance understanding of the...
Nest defence and predator recognition by Arctic tern \kur{(Sterna paradisaea)}
ŠPIČKA, Jan
In the presented work, I describe the behaviour of Arctic terns (Sterna paradisaea) toward predator species that differ in the threat they represent to them and to their nests. I presented textile dummies of great black-backed gull (Larus marinus), peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), common raven (Corvus corax) and common eider (Somateria mollissima), piece of wood as a harmless stimulus, and human intruder in sitting position near the tern nests. Experiments were conducted on the Varanger peninsula in Norway. The tern behaviour was recorded and analysed to see any dummy species related differences.
Rozpoznávání predátorů strakou obecnou (Pica pica)
ŠPIČKA, Jan
In the presented work, I describe the ability of Eurasian Magpie (Pica pica) to recognize predator species differing in the threat they represent. I presented stuffed dummies of northern goshawk (Accipiter gentilis, juvenile and adult female), common buzzard (Buteo buteo), common raven (Corvus corax) and common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) to magpie pairs within the area of České Budějovice. The magpie behaviour was recorded and analysed, to see any dummy species related differences.
Tuition of crawl stroke technique to children of younger pupil age
Špička, Jan ; Pokorná, Jitka (advisor) ; Jurák, Daniel (referee)
Title: Tuition of crawl stroke technique to children of younger pupil age Goal of the thesis: The goal of the thesis is a creation of digital videoprogramme dealing with the current tuition of crawl stroke to children of younger pupil age. The programme depicts a procedure of analytic-synthetic teaching method and presents technical exercises suitable for teaching crawl technique to children of younger pupil age. Methods: Acquired data were collected and evaluated using basic didactic methods of theoretic and empiric acquisition by cognition, where comparison with published theory is possible. Video recordings of exercises were acquired according to a program assembled beforehand. The final videoprogramme was created using computer processing of video recordings. Results: Based on the knowledge gained, possible swimming exercises are suggested in a form of a digital videoprogramme. These exercises are suitable for tuition of children of younger pupil age. Digital video recording illustrates the procedure of analytic-synthetic teaching method, which is suitable for both professional and non-professional communities. Key words: Didactics of physical training (swimming), crawl, younger pupil age
