Czech Baptist Union in Prague before and after the year 1989 from the perspective of its members

The work focuses on the history of the Baptist Union in Prague with an emphasis on the breakthrough of 1989 and the changes that have been brought by this year. The key points of the research are relations of the Baptist Union and the state, and a comparison of the view of preachers and "ordinary" members. The methodology of the work (see charter 2) is based on archival records and especially on the interviews based on the oral history method. Narrators were selected so that their choice was as representative as possible according to the function in the church, education, generation, gender and membership in a local church (congregation). Third chapter provides an overview of fundamental emphases of the Baptist tradition in Czech lands, it refers to the history of Baptists in the Czech Republic and in Prague. Fourth chapter contains an analysis of the interviews and archival sources. Subchapters are ordered according to time periods. Each subchapter discusses key issues relating to the period, sources are compared to each other based on their relevance to the topic at the end of each chapter.
