Application and Verification of a Self-defence Program for Patients in a Psychiatric Hospital

Title: Application and Verification of a Self-defence Program for Patients in a Psychiatric Hospital Objectives: The aim of this thesis is application of a self-defence program, created in a bachelor thesis, during an addiction treatment in Červený Dvůr, a psychiatric hospital. The thesis surveys the suitability of the educational program during addiction treatment, verification of acquired motoric skills and its possible integration in patients' free time, recommendation of the exercise to friends, and last but not least it surveys a possible interest in the program in other psychiatric hospitals. Methods: There are several methods used in the thesis. Content analysis is used for working with literature, interview is used in the conversation held with the department head and the custodian. Observation is used for watching the participants doing the exercise. Comparing is used for evaluation of the final outputs. Opinion poll is used for finding the asset of the educational program. Basic statistic methods are used for evaluating the answers in the opinion polls. Results: The suitability of the program was confirmed by two department heads in two psychiatric hospitals which are focused on addiction treatment. ABTRACT Title: Influence of personality to cope with new motoric skills among beginning indoor skydivers. Objectives: The main objective of this work is to determine whether there is a link between the performance of the indoor skydiving for beginners and their personalities, eventually their level of anxiety before this sport. Methods: Literature search, the implementation of a questionnaire survey, observation, analysis and evaluation of data, graphical presentation of results. Results: Extraversion, openness to experience and situational anxiety - only these of observed factors have impact on the performance the indoor skydiving. Extraversion and openness to experience affect performance in direct proportion, to the contrary, situational anxiety affects it inversely proportional. Title: Effect of Tai Chi Chuan on the health of humans Objectives: The main objective of this work is to provide a comprehensive overview of the health effects of exercise Tai Chi Chuan and to add scientific studies that deal with this issue. Methods: For my thesis I chose the method of literary research. It will be a summary of findings from available literature and scientific research from online databases concerning this issue. Subsequent synthesis will serve to unite the various parts of the work and the resulting overview of the current state of human health in relation to Tai Chi. Results: The results of the available scientific studies confirm the positive effect of exercise Tai Chi Chuan on human health. Some of the areas in need of further exploration. The Possibilites of T'ai Chi Lessons for Elderty in the Prague

Title: The possibilities of T'ai Chi lessons for the elderly in Prague Objective: Main goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out what are the possibilities of T'ai Chi lessons for the elderly in Prague. The goal is to map available T'ai Chi schools in Prague, find out where T'ai Chi can be practiced and whether schools offer special lessons for the elderly. In the introduction, the thesis aims to characterize Tai Chi as a martial art, explain the term elderly and describe the effects of T'ai Chi. Methods: The method of data collection was a study of available literature, mapping of Prague area with the focus on possibilities of T'ai Chi lessons for the elderly, as well as telephone interviews with representatives from the given T'ai Chi school. Results: I found out that there are many opportunities to practice T'ai Chi for the elderly in Prague. There is a high density of school in the city centre, in the outskirts T'ai Chi school are much more infrequent. Out of fourteen asked schools, only four offer specialized lessons for the elderly, yet many elderly visit the remaining schools. Keywords: T'ai Chi, Chi, elderly, lessons, health

Title: Aikido - connection of exercise to philosophy Objectives: The main objektive of this work is to highlight the interconnectedness of the philosophy of the Far East to the exercise of the martial art of aikido. In the first part of work the chapters are focused on a brief history of Japan with links to martial arts, aikido, theoretical background, philosophical systems and their assimilation in aikido. The second part focuses on the practical aspects of aikido and the introduction of techniques with a certain philosophical dimension. Motivational aspects of FTVS student's increased interest in skydiving and paragliding

Title: Motivational aspects of FTVS student's increased interest in skydiving and paragliding Objectives: The main objective of this work is to define in theory the psychological terms connected with motivation based on studied literature and then to make a research focused on identifying the motivational aspects of FTVS UK students to participate in the skydiving and paragliding courses. Another objective is to compare these aspects in the paragliding group and the skydiving group. Methods: The method I used in an empirical part of the thesis to collect data was the method of non- standardized questionnaire. The researched object was formed by two groups of FTVS UK students. The first group was created by students of skydiving basic course and the other one was created by students of paragliding basic course. The total number of respondent students was 65. Results from the questionnaire were analyzed by using Excel spreadsheet, primarily by a frequency and average functions. Results: I have found out that most students don't have just one motivational aspect to practise these sports, but we can mark out several groups of these aspects which appear by each student in certain proportion. Title: The possibilities of MMA sports training in Prague Objectives: The main objective of this thesis is to summarize the knowledge of the MMA sports training in Prague, the characteristics of MMA, its history, principles and types. Further to characterize the individual components of wrestlers' sports training in the Czech Republic in comparison with conditions abroad. Methods: The method of data collection was a study of available literature, mapping of Prague area focusing on all MMA training opportunities, interviews and personal comments of specific coaches. Results: We found out that the possibilities of sports training and the gyms' facilities are of the same level throughout the Czech Republic but there are significant differences in approach to training and opportunities in gyms when compared to a successful foreign club.
