The influence of the frequency of flood damages on the insurance policy

This diploma work with the title "The influence of the frequency of flood damages on the insurance policy" has the aim to describe the impact of this kind of natural disasters on financial and insurance products. The introductory part deforms floods, their history and carries out their dividing into particular types. The second chapter shows products of insurance against floods. The following third chapter describes measures, which home insurance companies, banks and government have already accepted against floods. On the contrary the forth part is interested in proposals, which these particular subjects present within the framework of solving of the flood problems and which ones have not been accepted so far. The last fifth chapter realizes in short flood problems in Europe, especially in Germany and Slovakia.

Marginal literature at the edge of the law. On the dispute over "trash and obscenity" (not only) during the First Republic

This study is concerned with the problem of the law against "trash literature" and pornography in the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918-1938). It also focuses on the situation in Germany and the processes that influenced ideas regarding the necessity of similar legal norms. They are to be found in the expanding range on offer of popular literature, critical reflection on differences between popular and elite literature and the activity of the adult education movement. In Germany a large number of the books mentioned above was banned. However, in the Czech milieu no specific law was passed against "trash literature" and pornography. Part of the so-called small press law (1933) with relevant instructions was not implemented. The difference in the results of the process in Germany and Czechoslovakia were connected with the distribution of power inside and outside the literary field and the relationship of this field to the political field.

Arranged every five years at the initiative of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic Institute of Czech Literature, the congress brought together some 150 researchers from all over the world this year. Czech literature at the interface and the periphery deals with the personalities and forms involved in the occurrence of “otherness” in Czech literature: the boundaries of understanding “otherness”, problems of the emergence of “the other”, images of “the other” and the alternative cultural and geographical spaces of Czech literature. It looks in detail at authors who are neglected, not included or difficult to categorize, including Czechs beyond the borders. It also examines Czech-German, Czech-Austrian, Czech-Polish, Czech-Hungarian, Czech-Slovak and Czech-Jewish literary relations as well the “otherness” of particular works and characters, the context of Czech literature and translation, and the specifics of teaching Czech literature.

The importance of ethical codes in banking

Annotation This work deals with the importance of ethical codes in banking nowadays. The first part is devoted to description of situation in Czech banking. The chapter includes the theoretical characterization of particular codes and their practicable use in practise. The second chapter describes the situation in Ireland in the similar way. The final part carries on comparison of both systems and reflects their mutual advantages and disadvantages.

Trh práce, vláda a jejich vzájemná interakce

Práce popisuje některé souvislosti fungování pracovního a politického trhu.Snaží se najít odpověď na otázku jak vývoj mzdové diferenciace, nezaměstnanosti a působení odborů ovlivní politické prostředí a jeho zpětné působení na pracovní trh. Teoreticky vychází z teorií fungování pracovního trhu a některých závěrů z oblasti teorie veřejné volby. V praktické části práce analyzuje situaci v české Republice. Popisuje souvislost vývoje volebních preferencí s parametry trhu práce a souvislost implementovaných politik s politickým cyklem. Výsledkem je závěr o existenci politicky cyklických efektů na trhu práce během posledních čtyř volebních období.

MĚŘENÍ GLOBALIZACE V ČESKÉ REPUBLICE POMOCÍ INDIKÁTORŮ EKONOMICKÉ AKTIVITY MEZINÁRODNÍCH FIREM

Cílem práce je systematicky zpracovat aktivity mezinárodních společností na území České republiky, porovnat rozdílnosti a ověřit kladené hypotézy na dostupných datech České národní banky. V poslední části kladu na roveň trojici Česká republika, Maďarsko a Polsko, země, které jsou do určité míry s Českou republikou srovnatelné a můžeme si u nich klást a ověřovat stejné hypotézy. Pro tuto část využívám data poskytovaná Organizací pro ekonomickou spolupráci a rozvoj. Pro analýzy jsem upravil Herfindahlův index koncentrace, jehož využívám pro měření homogenity.
