Coexistence of wireless systems LoRa and Bluetooth
Laboratory workplace for virtual reality
Budáč, Adam ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is about creation of laboratory workplace for virtual reality. In theoretical part, it’s analysis of various types of devices for use in VR, description of operation principle of these devices used in VR, analysis of modern coding algorithms suitable for use in VR, suitable use of these codecs for 2D, 3D a 360° multimedia content, options of obtaining and playback of this content, comparing the difference against classical displaying methods and quality measurement of this content using objective metrics at different qualities and compressions. In experimental part, there’s described database creation of video content, coding these video sequencies using objective metrics, creation of laboratory workplace for use with VR, creation and sample elaboration of laboratory task dedicated to virtual reality.
Multimedia quality assessment for headset with virtual reality
Majnuš, Robert ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with creating multimedia content for virtual reality and designing a subjective test to evaluate these sequences. In the introductory theoretical part there is information about virtual and augmented reality and several types of virtual reality glasses that are available on the market today. The second chapter focuses on methods of quality measurement and evaluation. These are subjective and objective evaluation metrics. The following describes the different types of codecs that are found in most of the sequences on the Internet portals. Then there is a chapter on creating content for virtual reality. Especially panoramic, 3D and 360 ° videos and photos. In the practical part of this semester work is described by me the procedure of editing sequences for individual codecs and design and use of subjective method including evaluation.
LoRa-based indoor localization
Šimka, Marek ; Staněk, Miroslav (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on possible utilization of LoRa (Long Range) technology for indoor localization purposes. In this thesis, the starter kit SK-iM282A is used to create a LoRa-based wireless link in the 2.4 GHz ISM band. Main attention is focused on the experimental localization using the RSSI method in the various transmission environments, including a description of the localization principle, the procedure of processing the measured data and the evaluation of localized coordinates. The rightness of the proposed measurement setup and methodology is verified by extensive measurements in various environments and compared with state-of-the-art article.
The method of conservation, preservation, and restoration of subjects of cultural heritage on the ceramic basis (fired/unfired clay)
Štefcová, P. ; Kadeřábková, J. ; Polák, L. ; Valach, Jaroslav ; Vavřík, Daniel
The ceramic (decorative or utility) accompanies humanity from prehistoric times to the present days. Therefore, ceramic play important role in collections in all institutions. Due to the nature of the material are those items extremely sensitive to mechanical damage. The submitted method explains the damage mechanism or destruction of the items of cultural heritage. The method also summarizes recommendations for designing the optimal condition of depositing, exhibiting, conservation/restoration, and the manipulation with such sensitive material. Including a description of several methods useful to make quality documentation and replication of cultural heritage items (3D models). \n

Automated measuring system for irrigating plants with IoT connectivity
Lahoda, Vladimír ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with IoT networks and considers their use as part of embedded devices. The purpose of this device is to control the flower bed or garden based by data from sensors monitoring the environment. The device not only controls the irrigation operation itself, but also sends all traffic data over the IoT LoRa network. Thus, the device also functions as a weather station, as all data are sent to a second device that acts as a receiver. This receiver displays the data and also sends them to the Internet, where the data are publicly available. The module for sending and measuring data is mounted on its own PCB and is covered in a waterproof cover, so they can be operated outdoors. There is an integrated battery, which is a backup of savings in case of power failure. The battery is designed to back up power for 25 days.
Measurement and analysis of the DAB system
Kaštánek, Petr ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the measurement and analysis the performance of the Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system. Theoretical part of the work contains a brief description of the signal processing chain of DAB. Attention is devoted to physical layer (PHY). In the experimental part of the work is designed and implemented laboratory measuring workplace for reception, processing and evaluation of DAB signal. The RTL2832U software defined radio (SDR) is used as a receiver of the DAB signal. The functionality of the proposed concept is verified by a detailed measurement.
Laboratory workplace for measurement of DVB-T2 MISO broadcasting
Bárta, Vojtěch ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (referee) ; Polák, Ladislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with measurement and analysis of DVB-T2 MISO broadcasts. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the broadcasting chain of the DVB-T2 system at the level of the physical layers. Attention is paid to both SISO and MISO transmit modes. In the experimental part of the work is to design a measuring workplace for monitoring and analysis of DVB-T2 MISO transmission in laboratory conditions. The functionality of the proposed concept and chosen measuring methodology was verified by a set of experimental measurements.
