Speech recognition using Sphinx-4
Kryške, Lukáš ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed to find an effective method for continuous speech recognition. To be more accurate, it uses speech-to-text recognition for a keyword spotting discipline. This solution is able to be applicable for phone calls analysis or for a similar application. Most of the diploma thesis describes and implements speech recognition framework Sphinx-4 which uses Hidden Markov models (HMM) to define a language acoustic models. It is explained how these models can be trained for a new language or for a new language dialect. Finally there is in detail described how to implement the keyword spotting in the Java language.
Job Scheduling in Logistic Warehouses
Povoda, Lukáš ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Karásek, Jan (advisor)
The main aim of this thesis is flow shop and job shop scheduling problem in logistics warehouses. Managing and scheduling works is currently often problem. There is no simple solution due to complexity of this problem. This problem must be resolved because of a lack efficiency of work with a higher load such as during the christmas holidays. This paper describes the methods used to solve this problem focusing mainly on the use of search algorithms, evolutionary algorithms, specifically grammar guided genetic programming. This paper describes the problem of job shop scheduling on a simple theoretical example. The implemented algorithm for solving this problem was subjected to tests inspired on data from real warehouse, as well as synthetically created tests with more jobs and a greater number of workers. Synthetic tests were generated randomly. All tests were therefore run several times and the results were averaged. In conclusion of this work are presented the results of the algorithm and the optimum parameter settings for different sizes of problems and requirements for the solution. Genetic algorithm has been extended to calculate fitness of individuals with regard to number of collisions, extended to use priority rules during run of evolution, and some parts of algorithm was parallelized.
Computer analysis of medical image data
Krajčír, Róbert ; Šmirg, Ondřej (referee) ; Uher, Václav (advisor)
This work deals with medical image analysis, using variety of statisic and numeric methods implemented in Eclipse and Rapidminer environments in Java programming language. Sets of images (slices), which are used here, are the results of magnetic resonance brain examination of several subejcts. Segments in this 3D image are analyzed and some local features are computed, based on which data sets for use in training algorythms are generated. The ability of successful identification of healthy or unhealthy tissues is then practically tested using available data.
Optical character recognition from image data
Marinič, Michal ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with optical character recognition from image data with different methods used for character classification. In the first theoretical part it focuses on explanation of all important parts of system for optical character recognition. The latter practical part of the thesis describes an example of image segmentation, the implementation of artificial neural networks for image recognition and create simple training set of data for the evaluation of the network. It also describes the process of training Tesseract tool and its implementation in a simple application EasyTessOCR for character recognition.
Image similarity based on colour
Hampl, Filip ; Přinosil, Jiří (referee) ; Uher, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with image similarity based on colour. There are discussed necessary theoretical basis for better understanding of this topic. These basis are color models, that are implemented in work, principle of creating the histogram and its comparing. Next chapter deals with summary of recent progress in the field of image comparison and overview of several most used methods. Practical part introduces training image database, which gives results of success for each created method. These methods are separately described, including their principles and achieved results. In the very end of this work, user interface is described. This interface provides a transparent presentation of the results for the chosen method.
Image similarity measurement using points of interest
Jelínek, Ondřej ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
This paper presents a new object detection method. The method is based on keypoints analysis and their parameters. Computed parameters are used for building a decision model using machine learning methods. The model is able to detect object in the picture based on input data and compares its similarity to the chosen example. The new method is described in detail, its accuracy is evaluated and this accuracy is compared to other existing detectors. The new method’s detection ability is by more than 40% better than detection ability of detectors like SURF. In order to understand the object detection this paper describes the process step by step including popular algorithms designed for specific roles in each step.
Segmentation of microscopic brain structures
Láska, Samuel ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
This thesis is involved in image processing of medical data and its implementation using Java programming language. The main contribution of this thesis is creation of algorithms for feature extraction from 3D data and subsequent verification of the results for the issue of imagining 3D brain data, and creation of image filters and their implementation in the program RapidMiner. Consequently, the segmentation process is created at the 2D and 3D level, and output of 3D level segmentation are segmented brain structures. Furthermore, segmentation algorithms were compared on the basis of the final form of segmented structures and this approach was compared with other works.
Object detection in images using extended set of Haar-like features and histogram-based method
Králík, Martin ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on detection in images using extended set of Haar-like features and histogram-based method. At first is introduced a basic concept of extraction and classification image features. The next part bring own concept of image features based on Diffusion distance. Result of this work is implementation this methods in Rapidminer.
Towards the Automatic Design of Image Filters Based on Cartesian Genetic Programming
Kečkéš, Miroslav ; Uher, Václav (referee) ; Karásek, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is using cartesian genetic programming on design image filters and creating basic structure for implement diferent type of problems. Genetic programming is rapidly growing method, which often using for solve dificult problems. This thesis analyze basic principle, way of application and implementing this method to design filters. Result of this thesis is program realize design filters define by specific parameters, overview of implementig method and achieve summary from this sphere.
Feature extraction from image data
Uher, Václav ; Beneš, Radek (referee) ; Burget, Radim (advisor)
Image processing is one area of signal analysis. This thesis is involved in feature extraction from image data and its implementation using Java programming language. The main contribution of this thesis lies in develop features extractors and their implementation in the program RapidMiner. The result is a robust tool for image analysis. The functionality of each operator is tested on mammogram images. A function model was developed for the removal of artifacts from the mammography images. The success rate of removal is comparable with other similar works. Furthermore, learning algorithms were compared on example detection of ventricle in ultrasound image.
