TITLE: Literature und Music: Woyzeck and Wozzeck. Alban Berg's Musical Adaptation of the Drama by Georg Büchner. SUMMARY: This thesis deals with a musical adaptation of the opera Wozzeck by the composer Alban Berg in the context of its literary model. The theoretical part offers an overview of the most important information and data about the authors and the origin of their works, based on the relevant sources. In the practical part, the principal emphasis is put on the libretto, specifically on formal and language similarities and differences detected in the text and their impact on the content and message of the work. Another focus is on musical language and its essential features, especially on the treatment of the voice, instrumentation and motives in the opera. The attention is also paid to the occurrence of autobiographical elements and critical reviews of the work. Lenka Kotvová Supervisor: PhDr. Dalibor Zeman, Ph.D. Pages: 144 The thesis deals with the issue of anglicisms in the German language, being based on the research of their presence in selected periodicals. In the theoretical part the individual linguistic terms are explained. Further, a brief, retrospective overview of the influences on German language is presented. Into focus comes the one these days most widely spread: the influence of English. Contrastive reactions to this phenomenon of both professional and lay public are introduced and attention is also drawn to the comparison of possible benefits and danger of the use of anglicisms. The practical part consists in own research, which comprehensively parses five selected periodicals in the terms of the presence of anglicisms. Both the quantitative and qualitative characteristics are examined and put through diachronic and synchronic comparison. The results of the research are finally confronted with the ideas and experience of lay public gained by the means of a questionnaire. Key words: Anglicism, Denglish, Periodical
Anglicisms in German Media

Title: Anglicisms in German Media This bachelor thesis examines the occurrence of Anglicisms in the German daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung with the focus on the sport and political section. The aim of this thesis is to outline the frequency and the form in which Anglicisms are employed in the sections in question and to what extent they are integrated in the German language. This thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines and delimitates the term Anglicism. The second chapter deals with the historical development of the German language including the influences of foreign languages. . The third chapter describes Anglicisms from the point of view of orthography, morphology, lexicology, syntax and stylistics. The last chapter of the theoretical part introduces the daily newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung. The practical part is based on the research of the daily Süddeutsche Zeitung. The first chapter examines selected Anglicisms from the sport section, the second chapter from the political section. They are examined from the etymological and linguistic point of view with respect to their integration in the German lexicon. Conclusion summarizes the outcome of this study. The thesis entitled "Cross-cultural conflicts for instance the novel "Oya: Fremde Heimat Türkei", focuses on the explaining of fundamental terms culture and conflict. Both defined concepts are specified and put into connection in the context of intercultural conflicts. Specific intercultural conflicts are listed on a story for young people from the Turkish environment.
To the textlinguistic and textliterary analysis of the sorbian folk fairytale "The virgin, who didn't want into the bed" (new narrated by Jurij Brězan)

The aim of the bachelor work was to analyze the folk fairy tale "The virgin, who didn't want into the bed", which was newly narrated in 2006 by the Sorbian writer from Upper Lusatia, Jurij Brězan. The first part refers to text-linguistic concepts in the text structure, the theme-rheme analysis and to the textuality. The second part refers to text-literary concepts as the literary adaption of the Sorbian folk fairytale, comparative types of folk tales in Czech and German collections and typical Sorbian outlines in the analyzed folk fairytale.

The aim of this thesis is to confront the book "Am kürzeren Ende der Sonnenallee" by Thomas Brussig with its filmization "Eastie Boys" by director Leander Haußmann. The thesis is divided into several chapters. Besides the summary of the story and the actual comparison, it for example deals with the individual producers and actors cooperating on the book or film. One can also find here information about the origination of the film and the book. In the appendix you can see some photos and film reviews.
