Statistics-based classification on tissues in the mandibular region
Marcon, P. ; Bartušek, Karel ; Mikulka, J. ; Gescheidtová, E.
The authors present a statistical evaluation of T1-weighted and T2-weighted images of healthy and diseased human tissues. In each patient, the statistical data were evaluated from several tissues, namely the bone, bone marrow, muscle, fat, white matter and gray matter tissue types. Based on the acquired statistical data, we compiled new statistics. In the given tissue samples, we evaluated the following statistical quantities: standard deviation (s.d.), skewness, and kurtosis. The box plots and a small statistical database were created. This database is currently used to determine the tissues.
Calculation of the magnetic susceptibility of the non-ferromagnetic materials from 3D reaction field
Marcon, P. ; Gescheidtová, E. ; Bartušek, Karel
NMR method is described in the paper for measuring the magnetic susceptibility of specimens from the 3D reaction field. This reaction field was mapped by Gradient Echo method (GE). For the calculation of the magnetic susceptibility relationship and proposed method of signal processing were derived. The method was verified via modelling the measured configuration in the ANSYS program using the finite element method and by experimentally measuring MR-compatible and -incompatible materials on a tomograph.
Extraction of Mandibular Disc in MR Images
Mikulka, J. ; Gescheidtová, E. ; Bartušek, Karel
This article deals with a segmentation of MR images in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) area. The article shows our results of the segmentation of some MR slices with visible mandibular disc. These results are poised to following postprocessing which will be the 3D model of the mandibular disc creation.
Generátor šumu s DSP96002
Gescheidtová, E. ; Bartušek, Karel ; Dokoupil, Zdeněk
In the paper, the design and software implementation are described of a generator of pseudorandom binary noise signal of adjustable length and with repetition of pseudorandom binary signal sequence. The parameters of noise outputs are stable, well defined and variable over a wide range.
Měření relaxačních časů sodíkových iontů metodami magnetické resonance
Mikotová, E. ; Bartušek, Karel ; Gescheidtová, E.
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) experiments enable describing of the structure and the internal mobility of a wide spectrum of materials and systems from solutions, very soft and movable gels over synthetic polymers to organic and inorganic crystals and very hard rigid glass. The paper deals with a study of the relaxation times of the nearly liquid and gel electrolytes with content of natrium ions by the NMR technique. Newly designed method of solid electrolytes samples compounding and a suitable method for measurement of the relaxation times during the samples solidification were established.
Použití DSP96002 pro zpracování a přenos dat v MR tomografii
Bartušek, Karel ; Dokoupil, Zdeněk ; Smékal, Z. ; Gescheidtová, E.
The application of a DSP96002 digital signal processor in measuring and transferring data, setting the pre-emphasis constants, and communicating with the MR tomograph is described in the paper. The application of the digital signal processor represents a modern approach to real-time processing of MR signals. The objective is to obtain distance communication with the tomograph via the Internet.
Zvýšení rozlišení MR obrazů váhovanývh relaxačním časem T2
Bartušek, Karel ; Gescheidtová, E. ; Steinbauer, M.
The paper deals with the possibility to increase resolution in a measured MR image weighted by relaxation constant T2 of nuclei in the sample via suppresing spin density weighting. This method of image processing is besed on measuring the MR of images by the spin echo technique for two time values and on the calculation of their quotient.
Measurement the induction of magnetic field around an applicator for magnetotherapy
Bartušek, Karel ; Gescheidtová, E. ; Steinbauer, M.
The paper deals with measuring magnetic induction by imaging techniques based on magnetic resonance (MR) and describes experimental results od mapping the magnetic induction of a dermatological applicator for magnetotherapy performed by MR imaging techniques. The results are compared with theoretical calculation and with measurement carried out with an ordinary magnetometr. The conclusion derived from the measurement will be used in the design of a new applicator with complex electronic control of magnetic field.

Odstranění šumu z NMR signálu pomocí sub-pásmového prahování vlnek
Kubásek, R. ; Steinbauer, M. ; Gescheidtová, E. ; Bartušek, Karel
The wavelet transform is an up-to-date method for digital signal processing used in many branches of technology. One of its applications is the suppression of noise in useful signal. The paper deals with suppressing noise in a signal scanned on the NMR tomograph. The method of sub-band thresholding using the wavelet transform is discussed. This method is used in double denoising filtering of an FID signal and an instantaneous frequency signal. Using a filter bank with uniform ripple, designed by the Remez algorithm, is of advantage
