Money Laundering

Money laundering is a process, by which criminal organizations try to declare the origin of their income as legal. The process of laundering could be very sophisticated, but according to the fact that money come from illegal activities, process itself is illegal as well. I try to explain, outline and mention possible indicators and signs of such process. I analyze most frequent and common methods and describe possible ways of detection and restrictions. This problem appeared in the last century and was related to globalization, lessening of rules in international trading and new cheaper and faster ways of transportation. Money laundering is a "living" process, that still adapts to new situations and technologies.
Microfinance and microcredit in developing countries

The main aim of the baccalaureate thesis is to summarize the available knowledge in the field of microfinance and microcredit in developing countries and assess the effectiveness of microfinance institutions sorted by type. The thesis also deals with the increased incidence of moral hazard on both sides of microfinancial services, resulting in a considerable emphasis on barriers to entry the microfinancial market, regulation and supervision of microfinance institutions and an appropriate legislative framework. Despite the fact that previous research works of the impact of microfinance on the standard of poor inhabitants' living are mainly focused on the economic side of the issue, the thesis assesses the impact of microfinance on the other (e.g. social) aspects of life. In accordance with quantity of published research documents, author states higher efficiency declared by non-profit microfinance institutions, as well as greater social benefit of such institutions and organizations.

New regulatory and supervisory rules in banking

The bachelor thesis aims to clarify the new rules of regulation in banking. It explains step by step the need of regulation and supervision by different arguments, which are undoubtedly important for the banking sector. In addition to regulation, it explains principles of supervision, so not only the importance of rules, but also their fulfilling. In the next part, it describes Basel II accord, focusing on internal methods of measuring of credit and operational risk. By De Larosiére report the paper explains the need of new regulatory rules. The main part of the work is the last one, where the new rules are explained. It contains the explanation of remuneration, capital adequacy, liquidity and leverage ratio. The possible impact on economy is mentioned at the end of the work.

Furthermore, a monetary issue and specificity of that unique asset are shown. Finally, some art market trends are discussed, followed by possible paths of future development.

The first section is describing the definition of mergers and acquisitions and reflecting the developments and trends in recent decades. In the second part the main motives are stated leading to the realization of bank mergers on the part of owners and bank managers. The third section is describing the progress of implementation of the project from selecting of suitable candidates through to the implementation of the merger. The last section is focusing on the impact of mergers on the target company and the human society.

The point of the Bachelor thesis is to accession on problematics of Hedge funds. The main point is to closer definition of Hedge funds, like unregulated segment of market, which serve just for choosen clientele. The thesis analyses characteristics, for deeper understading of relations analyse also authencic origin and gradual development of funds. Thesis is also emphasized to comparison of unitary segments and following riskiness. The main part of the thesis is impact of financial crises on hedge funds. There is analysed a situation before crisis and also after crisis. The following topic is implementation of new regulations and its potencial benefit for this segment. In the end of the thesis is written subjective evaluation, if the regulation of this segment of market is benefical and what could be expected in the future.
Regulatory changes in response to the financial crisis in the US

The main topic of this diploma thesis is a response of the American administration and its legislation to the financial crisis which took place between the years 2007 and 2009 and the resulting changes in the financial markets regulatory rules in the United States. The aim of the thesis is to analyze specific individual sections of the well-known Dodd-Frank Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and its impacts on the banking sector in the US. The first part of the thesis deals with the analysis of main causes of the so-called mortgage financial crisis of the first decade of the 21th century. Numerical evidence shows the impacts into the real economy and channels through which the crisis had spread into financial markets worldwide are also described. The following sections contain in-depth description and analysis of changes in regulatory legislation and rules governing the US banking and other financial institutions.
Microfinance and microcredits in developing countries

The main objective of the baccalaureate thesis is to compare through selected financial analysis ratios two leading approaches to financing the low-income population of the third world. The first approach is based on financial self-sufficiency of microfinancial institutions, the second is dependent on obtaining grants and donations. It was found out that financially self-sufficient institutions are able to serve more clients and have higher repayment rate on loans than non-self-sufficient institutions, however both types have lower portfolio at risk and write-off ratio than commercial banks. The work also deals with history of microfinance, its benefits such as positive impacts on health and education or possible drawbacks, e.g. abuse of power by group leaders. The globalization of the world's microfinancial system is taken into account in determination of alternative source for financing the microentrepreneurs, namely participation of small investors via internet.
