Hloubková automatická analýza angličtiny

This thesis contains an account of our studies of deep or semantic analysis of English, particularly as described using predicate-argument structure description. Our main goal is to create a system for automatic inference of semantic relations between predicates and arguments - semantic role labeling. We developed a framework for parallel processing of our experiments, integrating third-party machine learning tools and implementing well-known as well as novel procedures. We investigated the current approaches to the problem and proposed several improvements, such as new classi cation features, separate handling of adverbial modi ers or special treatment for rare predicates. Based on our research, we designed and implemented our own semantic analysis system, consisting of predicate disambiguation and argument classi cation subtasks. We evaluated our solution using the CoNLL 2009 Shared Task English corpus.

Protection of domain names

In the diploma work, there are examined domain names, which have become, due to a mass development of the Internet, an economically very valuable estate. Domain names lack, although being a generally known notion, any legal anchoring in the Czech system of law. The absence of legal regulation of domain names is not an anomaly of the Czech legal environment, but it can also be seen in the states with advanced legal culture. Domain names fulfill, in addition to being a very valuable commercial article, identification and/or promotional functions. Just for those reasons, the domain names need to be provided a corresponding legal protection. The introductory part of the diploma work, containing an introduction into the issues of domain names, addresses technical aspects of domain names and the method of their hierarchical structuring. Further, the diploma work contains a list of institutions which play, in the area of domain names, an important role for various reasons. The historical development of the institutions, their organization, and activity contents are briefly described. Then the legal nature of domain names is examined and a question whether a domain name can be considered to be a thing/item, right and/or any other asset value is answered. BashCommander

The thesis is concerned with the implementation of the BashCommander application, which serves to effectively manage files using text commands in the Windows operating system environment. It combines a twopanel file manager with a console for text commands, using Bash language syntax. The implementation covers a graphical user interface with the file manager and terminal program (to display the console window), Bash language interpreter for Windows and several simple file operating programs, well-known from the Unixlike operating systems. The program itself is not an execution environment for Unix applications, nor does it require one to run. As to the Bash language and its internal commands' implementation, the goal is to achieve as close compatibility with the original version as possible, although limited in some ways. The execution of script files written in this language is also supported, the application aims to provide their easy portability. The program is designed for Windows 2000 and newer. The thesis also includes an analysis of the implementation problems, discussion of possible solutions and a comparison of BashCommander with existing Bash interpreters for Windows.

VARIOBN IN WINTERING NUMBERS OF GREAT CORMORANT ON SELECTED ROOST SIZES IN CENTRAL BOHEMIA

The study is based on summarization of current knowledge on population development of Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) in Europe and in Czech Republic. Moreoverr, it is focused on assessment of methodical approach to monitoring of wintering population. The Great Cormorant is regularly wintering species in the Czech Republic, since 1985. Nevertheless, it exceeds 1000 individuals since 1993 up to now. The surveys aimed at Cormorant numbers are compared according, results and interpretation of outputs methodology. The compared surveys include both International Waterbird Census carried out by ornithologists and survey organized by Czech Anglers Association.
Moreover, the results of the own field survey are analysed in the paper. The field survey was carried out in Veltrubský luh (village Pňov Předhradí, district Kolín, Central Bohemia) during winter months (December to March) 2015/2016. The numbers varied between 0 and 79. The fluctuations were affected by tree cutting, walking of people as well as by direct cormorant disturbance by local anglers. Nevertheless, the numbers reached between 59 and 78 in days without disturbance. Moreover, regular occurrence of great Cormorants was confirmed also in another neighbouring sites, such as in Poděbrady lake, sand pit lake Samberk, lake Sadská and Žehuňský fishpond.

Bachelor thesis deals with the problematic of drawing subsidies from the Cohesion Fund through the Operation Programme of Environment and it focuses primarily on the first priority theme of the operation programme. The aim of the thesis is to elaborate a model application form a subsidy for the project of sewerage and water purification plant construction in Sloupnice.

Does campaign spending have any impact on election outcome ?

This Thesis analyzes the impact of campaign spending of political parties on election outcome. The Thesis uses data from the Parliamentary library of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech republic, annual reports of political parties and from the Czech Statistical Office. For the first estimation, a method of Ordinary Least Square is used, consequently the equation of the model is edited using instrumental variables, in order to eliminate endogeneity. A new regression is estimated using Two-Stage Least Squares method. After the editing, all the explanatory variables are corelated and insignificant, although, the model itself works. In the end, this work did not succeed in measuring a predicted positive impact of campaign spending on election outcome. This "non-result result" shows the importance of an extensive dataset, which would allow an alternative approach to modelling and eliminating strong multicollinearity in the model.

The main goal of this thesis is to implement learning library Shapes for shapes drawing and simple animation. Part of the thesis is also a sample application, which shows usage on a traffic simulation in a town. The theoretical passage is focused on the Java ME platform characteristics, its differences from the popular Java SE and some new features. The next part is devoted to the description of the implementation process of the mentioned library and especially to distinguish the differences that have been caused by the platform switch. In conclusion of the chapter there is a user guide describing how to make an application based on this library ready to work on any mobile device.

Pharmaceutical industry in the world - geographical aspects

The topic of this thesis is a global pharmaceutical industry focussing on its geographical aspects. It is a progressive branch of industry with a specific structure and it is characterised by specific trends of development and localization. The first section of the thesis shows the basic characteristics of the pharmaceutical industry. The second section of the thesis deals primarily with a global pharmaceutical industry, important producers of pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical companies and also geographical organization and deployment of this branch of industry. This section brings also the issue of research in the pharmaceutical industry, the question of supranational activities of pharmaceutical industry or functioning of international pharmaceutical associations. The third last section deals with Czech pharmaceutical industry and its situation in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses primarily on the domestic producers of pharmaceutics it describes their history and current state shows some geographical patterns of domestic pharmaceutical industry and distribution. Tables, graphs and maps make the integral part of this thesis which function primarily as an illustration and specification of acquired information.

Impact of world finance crisis upon Czech banking sector

The objective of this paper is to explain why the Czech banking sector has not been affected by the global financial crisis as seriously as in other countries. In the first part of my work I describe the theory of financial crisis. I also describe the development of financial crisis models from 1970's until present. The following section focuses on the global financial crisis, which started in 2007 on the american subprime market. This paper describes the causes of its start and the means of spreading to the other parts of financial sector worldwide. The last section introduces Czech banking sector through basic financial indicators, its strength and stability.
