It deals also with the history of this disease, incidence in the population, relation between ontogenetic development and development of the axial system. The thesis also describes the treatment options and introduces the most used method of kineziotherapy. It contains two case studies of the patients with the idiopathic scoliosis where the Vojta method was used as the main method of kinesiotherapy.

Theoretical part deals with (1) the spine anatomy, kinesiology, and biomechanics, (2) ethiology and diagnostics of the disc hernia, and (3) feasibility of its conservative therapy using McKenzie's method, activation of the deep stabilizing system of the spine, and reflex locomotion method according Vojta.
