Distributed acoustic sensing system data analysis applied for perimeter protection
Anomaly and threat detection in audit logs using machine learning
Secured transfer of digital messages
OTDR optical path analyzer

The aim of this master's thesis was a theoretical analysis of OTDR issues, analysis of OTDR device components, as well as basic parameters of this device. The thesis also includes a theoretical analysis of reflections, scattering, and various types of connectors. In the practical part, a circuit design for OTDR measurement was developed and subsequently implemented. The circuit was realized using the Red Pitaya development board and Koheron laser. Additionally, a circuit for direct method measurement was also created. In the LabView development environment, a program was created, including a graphical user interface. A laboratory task was also designed to provide a basic understanding of OTDR measurement issues.
Implementation of SCADA architecture into fiber optic seNSING systems
Šišolák, Filip ; Tomašov, Adrián (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of data control and acquisition using SCADA technology and the subsequent implementation of two-way communication. The theoretical examination also includes an analysis of the current state of use of SCADA in optical sensing systems. In view of the shortcomings of the available SCADA systems, our own software programmed in the LabVIEW development environment is implemented. The Modbus TCP protocol is used for communication with the myRIO platform. Part of the work is also the analysis of the maximum achievable throughput with the Modbus TCP protocol.

Measurement and monitoring of optical fiber infrastructures
Baláž, Dominik ; Tomašov, Adrián (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with measurement and monitoring methods on optical path. The basic principles and transmission using optical fibers, optical fibers, band splitting and transmission characteristics such as attenuation and dispersion are discussed. The principle of wave multiplexing and recommendations according to ITU-T standards are also presented. Afterwards, measurements on optical fibres are described, instruments and methods for measuring and monitoring the optical path are presented in detail, and these instruments are compared in terms of their parameters and individual functions. In the practical part, cleaning of connectors, inspection of connectors, measurement of optical path without bending and with different bend radii using OTDR, direct method and measurements using FC BERT application, which is a substitute for the monitoring system, are described, the values from these measurements are evaluated both numerically and graphically.
100G passive optical network
Sporni, Alex ; Tomašov, Adrián (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the current state of development of passive optical networks, with the main emphasis on high-speed passive optical networks of 50 Gb/s and higher. The opening part of the thesis provides a theoretical introduction to optical access networks, their division, elements of passive optical networks and the subsequent analysis of the latest standards. As part of the implementation, simulation topologies for various simulation scenarios are designed in the VPIphotonics Transmission Maker tool. The proposed simulations are properly evaluated in the next chapter. The quality of the proposed simulation topology is assessed using bit/symbol error rate and in some cases in combination with an eye diagram (quality factor). The output of the work are simulation scenarios for various configurations and modulation formats of the proposed optical networks. The output of the work is also a laboratory task, which will be used for teaching purposes.
Gpon Attacks And Errors Classification
Tomašov, Adrián
This paper focuses on various types of attacks and errors in an activation process of Gigabitcapablepassive optical networks. The process sends messages via Physical Layer Operation Administrationand Maintenance header field inside the transmitted frame. An exemplar network communicationis captured by a special hardware-accelerated network interface card capable of processing opticalsignals from passive optical networks. The captured data is filtered of irrelevant parts and messagesand correctly formatted into a suitable shape for a neural network. The filtered data is divided intosmall sequences called time windows and analyzed using a recurrent neural network-based on Gatedrecurrent unit cells. A new neural network model is designed to classify sequences into several categories:additional message, missing message, error inside (noisy) message, and message order error. All of these categories represent a certain type of attack or error. The proposed model can distinguishmessage sequences into these categories with high accuracy resulting in revealing a possible attackeror drift from protocol recommendation.
Analysis of possible threats in old OS Linux version
Chovancová, Emília ; Dejdar, Petr (referee) ; Tomašov, Adrián (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the security aspect of an older version of a Linux based machine. The document is split into a theoretical part which contains a description of what operating system, kernel, UNIX, GNU/LINUX and Linux OS are in general. Then the description proceeds to explanation of active and passive attacks such as replay, masquarade, denial of service, man in the middle or listening and analysing the network. Afterwards it continues with description of potentially vulnerable spots that are common on operating systems. With the help provided from scanning software, especially Nmap and Lynis, the document proceeds to the practical part which contains various types of successful and unsuccesfful attacks such as password recovery, denial of service, spectre, brute force of a password and cross-site scripting. The last part covers the protection against succesfull attacks and adds a little bit more of additional protection in general in a form of an ansible script.
