Quantitative estimation of releases of airborne dust from the mine Bílina (Stage 1)
Sokol, Zbyněk ; Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Pešice, Petr
The report describes applied methods and results obtained in modelling the dust spread inside the mine Bílina and its surroundings . We developed a model calculating air flow in the mine and its surrounding area with a horizontal resolution of 25 m and a transfer model calculating the concentration of dust PM10 and PM2.5 . Both models were validated using measured data.
Models of FSO link attenuation due to fog, rain and wind derived from measurement
Fišer, Ondřej ; Brázda, Vladimír ; Chládová, Zuzana ; Pešice, Petr ; Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Schejbal, V.
The Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Czech Academy measures atmospheric attenuation on 60 m experimental FSO link while wavelength being 830 and 1550 nm. The measurement lasts three years. In this contribution we show dependences of FSO link attenuation on visibility, rain rate and selected wind parameters. We show that the measured attenuation values are higher than the theoretical values derived by the Kim formula. The sonic temperature is surprisingly very well correlated with attenuation.
PERUN - the System for the Crop Yield Forecasting
Dubrovský, Martin ; Žalud, Z. ; Trnka, M. ; Pešice, Petr ; Haberle, J.
PERUN 1.0 is the Windows-based system for probabilistic crop yield forecasting. It is based on crop growth model WOFOST. The weather series is prepared by a stochastic weather generator Met&Roll with parameters that are derived from the observed series.
Deterministic and statistical estimates of probable precipitation amounts for the territory of the Czech Republic
Řezáčová, Daniela ; Sokol, Zbyněk ; Pešice, Petr
Two methods were developed to estimate PPM (Probable maximum precipitation). For the interval 1-12 hours the dynamical-statistical model was applied. For longer intervals the statistical model was used.
Effect of cooling tower plumes on weather and clima
Řezáčová, Daniela ; Sokol, Zbyněk ; Neumanová, Kateřina ; Pešice, Petr
Report describes the development and testing of the cooling tower plume model. The mathematical model is designed to assess the plume effect on the meteorological and climatological characteristics in the area of the tower system.
