The bachelor thesis is divided into literary research and practical part (own measurement). The content of the literary research is a description of the shaft spillway, the Labská dam and the measuring equipment. The practical part is focused on measurement of the horizontal velocity, flow distribution and water surface elevation on the shaft spillway physical model. Evaluation of changes in pond dam monitored by EIS Method
Novák, Michael ; Maleňák,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the evaluation of monitoring of earthen dike of fish pond which was built near the municipality Jevíčko. To identify the observed changes, which are related to variable loads earth dike with water, in time and space has been selected indirect electrical method of measuring electrical impedance spectrometry. This method is described in the work and the results of monitoring are published in graphical form and are commented.
The effectiveness of sealing VD Karolinka using the aperture analyzed by EIS method
Fránková, Hana ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is dealing with recognition of effectiveness of the sealing wall of earth dam Karolinka by electrical impedance spectrometry method. Sealing wall was installed to the body of the dam in 2013 during a complex reconstruction. Data of monitoring during 2012, i.e. before the reconstruction, are compared with the data measured in 2015, i.e. after the reconstruction. Data of past month from 2015 are added.
Influence different material layer to the sensitivity measurements of the EIS probe
Slezák, Jakub ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with question, what influence will have different layer and different types of material to sensitivity measurements using the probe of electrical impedance spectrometry. This experiment is realized in laboratories of DWS. The thesis follows the solution of projects E!3838, E!4981 and E!7614 in international EUREKA program.
Influence of approach channel width on flow over thin-plate weir with triangular notch
Gabriel, Pavel ; Pařílková, Jana (referee) ; Zachoval, Zbyněk (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis discussed the determination of the influence of the width of the tributary channel on the overflow through thin-walled spillways with triangular cut-outs with different values of the cut-out angles. The measured data expanded the knowledge in the given area. The expression of the width of the tributary bed is made by introducing the influence of the influence coefficient of the relative width of the tributary bed, and the recommendation is an equation that reflects the influence of the relative width of the tributary bed in a wide range of angle values.
Spatial analysis of snow cover using the method of electrical impedance spectrometry
Novák, Michael ; Zeleňáková, Martina (referee) ; Janál, Petr (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
Snow cover is an important climatic, hydrological and biological phenomenon. Especially in the empirical sciences, snow and snow cover monitoring has a long tradition, the importance of which has been reinforced in recent decades by the fact that snow cover (it is controlled by temperature and precipitation) is one of the important indicators of climate change. The dissertation thesis deals with the monitoring of snow cover in the years 2016 to 2019, mainly in the Czech Republic, in the Eagle Mountains. The characteristic properties of the snow cover and their changes, caused by changes in temperature, humidity and air flow rate or by the snow's own weight, are monitored by selected and available classical methods and non-traditional indirect method of electrical impedance spectrometry. The aim of the work was to master the measurement technique by a non-traditional method (design of measuring probes, delimitation of the space between the measuring electrodes, data collection and processing). The method is described in the work, the results of monitoring are published in graphical form and are commented. Another goal was to find a suitable mathematical description of the dependence between the measured electrical quantities and the properties of the snow cover, which can be used to determine the water value of snow and possibly also predict the avalanche danger. The technique of measurement by the indirect method of electrical impedance spectrometry was successfully mastered, including the definition of possible adverse effects affecting the measurement result. It was not possible to obtain a statistically significant set of data on the basis of which it was possible to determine the dependence between individual quantities. Classic manual methods can still be considered the standard for snow diagnostics and snow cover.
The issue of water infiltration into the soil monitored by the EIS method
Bartoněk, Dominik ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of water infiltration into soils and acquaintance with methods and procedures for monitoring the infiltration process in field conditions, including the assessment of the suitability of the method of electrical impedance spectrometry for the monitored issues. Infiltration ability of soil are involved in the formation of the landscape due to its resistance to extreme hydrological situations (floods, drought). Infiltration is process in which at exact time and at the certain rate is water absorbed from the earth´s surface into depth of the soil. Infiltration process is based on locality conditions and influenced by natural influences and by human activities. The measurement was performed at two selected localities of the School Forest Enterprise, which is an organizational part of Mendel University in Brno, in particular, of its Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology. The conception and realization of measuring of rain water infiltration into soil was performed in permanent forest stands located in the cadastre of the municipalities of Útěchov and Kanice. Both localities differ in the structure of the forest stands (species, age, spatial), and therefore the comparison of measured data was performed. In the case of the electrical impedance spectrometry method and the used measuring apparatus, this is a pilot work leading to the acquisition of knowledge, which factors can have a significant impact on soil infiltration and whether it is appropriate to apply the method and the measuring apparatus in this environment.
Monitoring of the earth-fill dam of the Karolinka waterworks
Svoboda, Vojtěch ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor‘s thesis is focused on selected parameters monitoring of the earth dam of hydraulic structure Karolinka. The first outflow areas on the Karolinka dam air face were already observed and the seepages were measured after the first filling. As a result, in addition to standard monitoring, monitoring of the dam by electrical impedance spectrometry was started in 2011. During the reconstruction of the dam in 2013 was realized the construction of the sealing wall for minimalized of seepages. The selected data were compared before and after reconstruction of the hydraulic structure Karolinka. The bachelor‘s thesis was realized within the sustainability of the international project E!7614 of EUREKA program.
Estimating soil effective grain size by EIS apparatus
Chládová, Zuzana ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the use of electrical impedance spectrometry and its possible application in the estimation of effective particle size of soil. The grain size curve of each soil sample was obtained by using the sieve analysis and aerometric method after which the effective particle size for each sample was determined. Thereafter the frequency analyzes of samples were performed under laboratory conditions using Z-meter. The results showed that it is possible to infer effective particle size when the frequency analysis is performed for example during field measurement. This research was carried out as part of the project E!7614 of the EUREKA program.
Detection of water infiltration into soils injected by clays using EIS method
Marek, Ondřej ; Novotná, Jitka (referee) ; Pařílková, Jana (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the study of water infiltration into soil samples with various types of clay. The soil matrix was represented by homogeneous sand; clay samples were supplied by LB Minerals, Ltd. Soil analysis with injected clays was focused on sealing ability of examined clays for possible use in construction practice for the construction of sealing objects. Electric impedance spectrometry (EIS) measuring system was used to monitor the infiltration process. The measurement was carried out by a measuring apparatus made by the solution of the international project E! 7614 of applied research in the EUREKA program within its sustainability.
