An Overview of Hot-Wire Probes for Simultaneous Measurement of the Velocity and the Scalar Quantity
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
Paper deals with properties of multiple-sensor hot-wire probes which has been developed in Fluid Dynamics dept. of the Institute of Thermomechanics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic for simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the concentration or the flow temperature.
Wavelet and POD Analysis of Turbulent Flow Within Street Canyon
Kellnerová, Radka ; Kukačka, Libor ; Uruba, Václav ; Antoš, Pavel ; Odin, J. ; Jaňour, Zbyněk
Wavelet analysis of flow inside the street canyon is applied on highrepetition PIV and high-frequency hot wire data. Experiment is performed in windchannel with floor covered by series of street canyons. The passage of sweep and ejection events is detected as being long-term signature in lower frequencies. The passage of vortex is recognizable as circular patterns in higher frequencies on Wavelet spectrum. When using velocity vectors as input data, proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) reveals the most dominant modes in terms of turbulent kinetic energy.
Measuremnt of Directional Characteristics of Three Type of Two-sensor Anemometry Probes
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
In the paper, there is a comparison of the directional characteristics of three types of two-sensor probes given in the paper. All tested probes were developed and manufactured at Fluid dynamics laboratory of the Institute of Thermomechanics.
Time-averaged Field of the Concentration of Gas Admixture over Two-dimensional Hill
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
In this paper, a flow over a polynomial shaped 2D hill has been studied in detail. Geometry of the hill is the same as in Almeida et al. Experimental results of both, the time-averaged velocity field and the binary-mixture concentration field has been presented.
Measurement of the Molar Concentration in Air-Carbon Dioxide Mixture by Means of Hot-wire Anemometry
Antoš, Pavel ; Jonáš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
The diffusion of the fluid particles is one of the important fundamental problems of the research of transitional and turbulent flows. This phenomena is of great importance in case of pollutants spreading. In experimental study of the diffusion there is commonly used an admixture gas as a tracer, which enter the main airflow. The paper deals with the simultaneous measurement of the velocity and the molar concentration in binary-gas mixture by means of hot-wire anemometry. A special three-sensor probe has been manufactured and the calibration in Air-CO2 mixture is presented.
Limit žhavení pro vyhodnocení rychlosti pomocí CTA termoanemometru
Antoš, Pavel
Paper deals with the velocity measurement by means of the CTA. Hot-wire anemometry is based on the heat transfer from the hot wire to the fluid. Limit of overheating is dependent on the probe geometry. The use of generalized form of the Collis-Williams law for common probes at low overheats has been discussed in detail.
ERRORS IN EVALUATION OF THE VELOCITY AND THE CONCENTRATION IN TWO-SENSOR HWA MEASUREMENT
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Jonáš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav
Paper deals with the directional sensitivity of the two-sensor hot-wire probe. Probe geometry causes different effective velocity of each sensor. Thos leads to an evaluation error of concentration and velocity.
Directional calibration of the 3-hot-wire probe for measurement of velocity and binary-mixture concentration
Antoš, Pavel ; Uruba, Václav ; Mazur, Oton
Calibration of the probe developed in the IT AS CR is described in paper. The probe consists of 3 hot-wire sensors and it will be used for measurement of 2 velocity components and concentration of binary gas mixture.
Directional sensitivity of probe with two paralel hot wires
Antoš, Pavel ; Mazur, Oton ; Uruba, Václav
The directional characteristics of two hot wires are studied experimentaly. The probe will be used for simultaneous measurement of velocity and concentration.
