Solid-state batteries in the automotive industry
Sechovec, Michal ; Otipka, Václav (referee) ; Rekem, Jakub (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of traction batteries for electric vehicles. The work can be divided into two major parts: Li-ion batteries with liquid electrolyte and batteries with solid electrolyte. It describes the construction, from electrode materials through the electrolyte to the shapes of the cells and the overall battery pack. It also focuses on current developments and includes a summary of the most used electrode materials today. In the area of solid electrolyte, three groups of materials can be discussed. Prospective combinations of solid electrolytes and electrode materials are mentioned. Further research is necessary before any of the discussed concepts can be introduced to the market. Batteries with solid electrolyte are very promising due to their properties.
Design of automobile automatic transmission for presentation purposes
Pospíchal, Jiří ; Rekem, Jakub (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design of structural modifications of automotive planetary gearbox with hydrodynamic converter for resentation and educational purposes. The introductory part of the thesis focuses on the reasons for the use of automotive gearboxes in cars. The review part of the thesis focuses on a detailed description of the types of automotive gearboxes offered by automobile manufacturers, naming their advantages and disadvantages and comparing them with each other. The main part of the thesis describes the design of automatic planetary gearboxes of class 09G. It analyzes the gearbox systems and describes their functions in detail. The thesis concludes with a proposal for gearbox design modifications for presentation purposes, based on the knowledge of the design of Class 09G gearboxes gained during the writing of the thesis.
Electric Vehicle Sound Design
Panáček, Erik ; Otipka, Václav (referee) ; Láštic, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis summarizes information about sound design in electric vehicles. This thesis explains sound design in electric vehicles, gives reasons for needing sound design in electric vehicle, describes technologies and principles used in sound design of interior and exterior. Described next is aspect of sound identity in sound design of electric vehicle and the conclusion summarizes results, and gives implications for future work.
High Pressure Injection Systems
Břoušek, Roman ; Otipka, Václav (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis is based on high pressure injection system mostly for commercial vehicles. The aim is to describe direct injection systems on specific drive units with methods of reducing emissions and their common issues. Gradually, the parts of injection system are described including their function. By comparing direct injection systems of gasoline and diesel similarities can be notice by aspect of their function. Finally is good to mention onset of electrification and thus develepment of injection systems, which are retreat by combination of financial and technological aspects.
Design of a movable lift for passenger cars
Češpiva, Zdeněk ; Láštic, Daniel (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a movable lift for passenger cars. Now we have a great deal of lifts for cars, so the research part focused on their basic division. The main parts of the work include the design of a movable lift, which is then subjected to strength calculations. After these calculations, it can be stated that the designed lift is suitable in terms of safety. The outputs of this work include drawing documentation of the assembly and selected components of the lift.
Noise in the interior of vehicles and methods of reducing it
Patočka, Pavel ; Zajac, Roman (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the issues of noise in the interior of vehicles and the methods of subsequent decrease of such noise. Moreover, the thesis shortly describes the most notable sources of noise involved in the overall acoustic within the automobile. The undertaken analysis illustrates that the main source of noise in older vehicles is the combustion engine, an exhaust and intake system, and a gearbox tool. Conversely in modern vehicles, as a result of the unceasing progress of alternative drives, the most notable noise in modern vehicles is the aerodynamic noise and the noise forming out of the contact between tires and roadway. The research showcases that the elimination of these sources is aimed at the use of isolation and absorption structures, as well as the technologically advanced methods such as the ANC method. In relation to the increasing pressure on emission-free traffic, often resulting in insufficient vehicle soundproofing, the thesis summarises the findings concerning the issues of additional vehicle soundproofing.
Design of a planetary gearbox of an RC model produced by the 3D printing
Rada, Jan ; Rekem, Jakub (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of a planetary gearbox produced by 3D printing. The first part is focused on research in the field of current technologies and 3D printing materials. The production process for FDM technology and the theory of planetary gears are described here. The second part is focused on the design of the gearbox to meet the input parameters so it could be produced by 3D printing. The design process from the calculation through modelling to the actual printing of the gearbox is described here.
Design of a mattrack unit of an RC model produced by the 3D printing
Mašek, Dominik ; Rekem, Jakub (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
The focus of this bachelor thesis is 3D print and design of mattrack unit for the RC off-road car. In the first part there are description of 3D print technologies, materials for 3D print and evaluation which of this method is suitable for hobby printers. The second part is focused on technical solution and the design of mattrack unit, most of unit parts are made by 3D print. First step was choosing of type of construction which should be inspiration for this mattrack unit. It was necessary to choose suitable tolerance of holes and pins to get required deposition of printed parts. There was problem with an unstrung belt when bodies of guiding wheels rotated. This problem was solved by the mechanical limitation of rotate. The construction is described by the technical documentation which was created by the 3D model.
Powertrain of a modern electric vehicles
Mraček, Pavel ; Zajac, Roman (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with powertrains of modern electric vehicles. The opening part briefly mentions the important historical milestones of electric mobility. The main part of the thesis describes different concepts of powertrain layouts and analyses its main components. The described components are mainly electric motors, batteries, and transmissions. The whole thesis is concluded with comparison of mass–produced electric cars divided into two categories according to the price.
Vehicles for driving schools
Rajnštajn, Jakub ; Rekem, Jakub (referee) ; Otipka, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on a description of car adaptations made for driving school needs and the suggestion of another possible upgrades. In the first part, there is described the evolution of common automobiles, especially in spheres important for mentioned potential upgrades. That means the pedal system and active safety technologies above all. Then, there is made a summary of nowadays adaptations, which allow the instructor to control the vehicle during the driving lesson, especially the second pedal controls. Thereafter, there are suggestions of upgrades, which could come with increasing the safety level of the driving lessons. It means especially the possibility to release the brake force from the instructor’s seat, the evolution of additional function of infotainment system and the usage of assistance systems.
