Comparison of production possibilities gears plastic and metal
Květoun, Jan ; Žák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This project is focused on comparison technologies of making cogwheels from plastic and metal. Inside are described principles, descriptions of technologies and appropriate usage or advantages and disadvantages. Mentioned technologies of making metal gears are primarily machining for example milling, slotting or grinding. Making of plastic gears is primarily focused on injection moulding. Practical part of this thesis is focused on exchange metal cogwheel with plastic cogwheel with helping calculations and information from resources. Exchanged cogwheel is from motorcycle ČZ 175/453.
Production technology of plastic lamp shade
Čajan, Tomáš ; Kebrle, Ondřej (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This master thesis deals with design of injection molding technology for plastic lamp shade made of polycarbonate labelled Lexan 925. The injection is performed into injection mold with hot runner system. Initially there is a general study related to plastic materials and injection molding technology. Further the study continues with technological solution of production of the lamp shade. The designed injection mold is two-plate, double cavity mold with two hot nozzles and is equipped with a thread-unscrewing machine. This thesis contains part of the documentation and item list of the injection mold, along with technical-economical evaluation of the developed solution.
Production of adjustable in-line skates
Sulovský, Marek ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Žák, Ladislav (advisor)
The thesis is focused on design of adjustable in-line skates. Using this design, users can set its length to their shoes. Adjustable length can cover up to three shoe length sizes. Traditional wood and steel designs are now almost fully replaced by plastic. Plastics are modern materials that have a lot of useful features. They have lower density than steel, while maintaining acceptable stiffness. Major part of the design can be manufactured using plastic injection molding and wheels are made by casting technology. Remaining parts include standardized stainless steel bolts with threaded inserts and aluminum rivets. Major features, setting this design apart include stable 3-wheel platform, fast Velcro fixing and built-in hex driver.
Design of clamping fixture for ultrasonic welding of plastics
Vojteková, Lucia ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
The project elaborated design of clamping fixture for ultrasonic welding – horn. In pursuance of literary studies and calculations there was created approximate shape of clamping fixture, which was created in 3D programme and tested by finite element analysis. Using the linear static analysis there were found some modal shapes of the horn. The purpose of simulations is to find modal shapes of analysed structure, which can cause damage of the horn or equipment. Analysis shows the real shape of vibrations of the tool, which can be always in one axis. With the help of correction of dimensions and shape there was found required frequency in working range of ultrasonic equipment. Suitable shape of the horn was processed into drawings. The material, from which is horn made of, is a titanium alloy TiAlMo74.
Resistance spot welding
Kosinka, Jakub ; Kandus, Bohumil (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
The project describes the principle of resistance spot welding and sets the parameters which the quality of the weld nugget depends on. Moreover, it compares the macrostructure and mechanical properties of the spot welds made by soft or hard welding mode. In the experimental part, there is evaluating the strength of weld, precisely said cohesiveness weldments depending on the number of spot welds and their mutual position.
Design of manufacturing technology for elastomer bushings conditioning
Švarc, Lukáš ; Dubovský, Marek (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with designing technology of manufacturing for component made of elastomer. The theoretical part is about dividing polymer materials and the issues of elastomer processing by injection molding. In the practical part is dealt with production conditions, design specifications of the tool and comparison with initial proposal. Next part is about technological and design calculations and the thesis ends with design of technological process.
Draft modified winding technology of composite pipes
Bednár, Peter ; Pinkas, Jan (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on composite pipes production by winding of composite fibres soaked in resin binder and feeding with additional third type material simultaneously. It also describes the production machine FWMS180 and all of its additional devices necessary for the composites production by filament winding. The production process of composite pipes on the production machine FWMS180 is described in this paper as well as detailed description of the winding method. Furthermore, the technological bend and vibration tests procedures conducted on pipes of different material composition are discussed with related results and comparison. The thesis proves that presence of the third type material in composite pipes structure has different influence depending on observed and evaluated property.
Production technology of plastic holder roof rack
Nevřivý, Lukáš ; Šalša, Josef (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on a design of injection mold which is used for manufacturing of a plastic holder of roof rack. The first part includes shape analysis of the holder and explains function of the product as well as specify essential requirements which must be met. The choice of the most suitable manufacturing technology is followed by theoretical part which deals with literature review of plastic materials, technology of injection molding and basics of injection mold designing. Practical part includes overall design of the mold for the holder of roof rack based on technological calculations. Practical part is followed by mold flow analysis simulation showing suitability of designed mold along with selection of suitable injection molding machine based on product construction design and technological process of manufacturing. The conclusion of master’s thesis includes an economical evaluation of proposed manufacturing technology.
Design of manufacturing technology for door elastomer grommet
Kavan, David ; Stehlík, Ing. Jaroslav (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
The goal of this project is design of manufacturing technology for door elastomer grommet in a series of 400 000 units per year. As a proposed solution of manufacturing technology has been chosen multicomponent injection moulding. Appropriate thermoplastic elastomer and polyamide was chosen based on the knowledge gained in theoretical study of materials and technologies elaborated in the second part of the project. Moreover, the shape of the door grommnet was redesigned in accordance with the chosen technology. Working machine was chosen from manufacturer Arburg, model Allrounder 630S in a two-shot design, complemented by the index unit. A cost of production of one piece of the door grommet was determined in an economic evaluation. This cost was compared with current cost of production and new technology reducing manufacturing costs of one series by 25%.
Production technology of the connector body from recykled material
Brhel, Michal ; Sedlařík, Vladimír (referee) ; Kandus, Bohumil (advisor)
Study developed during the Master's degree studies of Mechanical Engineering deals with the use of recycled plastic in the injection molding and its influence on the mechanical properties of the mold. Examined product is used in the automotive industry as a connector body. The housing is manufactured from a plastic material, polyamide. The annual production volume of 3 000 000 pieces. According to tests specified in standard USCAR2 regrind influence on mechanical properties and dimensions was evaluated. After the technical evaluation of the project, research was also judged from economic point of view. In this task, savings with the different content of the recycled material during production was calculated. The final chapters justify change of properties and they are proposing the use of recycled materials in practice.
