Kužela, Jan ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Vojtěch, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to formulate the design of optical access network in designated area. The design is focused on the physical network layer and it covers optical fibers, cable protectors and links, optical hubs, racks and active components. The thesis also docu- ments network architecture, the configuration of active components and provides results from monitoring of selected network segments. The thesis consists of the theoretical part and practical part. In the theoretical part, there is an introduction to optical networks, their configurations (FTTH, FTTB, FTTC, FTTN), relevant networking standards and technologies. The practical part of the thesis covers design proposal of a network located in Slavičín. The design reuses infrastructure and technologies of existing network. The proposed design follows FTTH architecture which has benefits of low maintenance cost and it also fulfills GPON standard.
NG-PON2 standard implementation in OPNET Modeler
Cymorek, Patrik ; Jurčík, Michal (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to apprise ourselves with communication in NG-PON2 standard. The first chapter describes optical networks. The second chapter deals with description of NG-PON2 standard and detailed description of downstream and upstream frame. Methods of grant allocation are described at the end of the theoretical section of this paper. Own entities were created in the practical part of this paper and they were used to simulate static and dynamic grant allocation. Designed entities and simulation results were compared with the real network behaviour at the end of the practical part. Designed entities were also used to design a lab exercise in the attachment.
Triple Play simulations for next generation networks
Sikora, Pavel ; Polák, Josef (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with XG-PON networks. It describes the parameters of the physical layer, its divisions and the branching possibilities. It also describes the transfer layer and its sublayers, discloses the activation process of ONU units when ONU unit connected to ODN. Finally, the thesis describes DBA algorithm including a detailed representation of a DBA algorithm reference model and a representation of the two DBA algorithms implemented in practice. Simulations of Triple Play services in the network with software NS-3 are also included. Simulations using simple DBA algorithm and GIANT algorithm. Thesis contains too modification of GIANT DBA decreasing data trasfer delay.
Software defined optical network
Kloda, Tomáš ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Kočí, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis is focused on explanation of software defined networking and communication via OpenFlow protocol with description of transmitted messages. This thesis deals with software defined optical networking, which describes combinations of OpenFlow with other technologies and methods to control the optical path. In another part, the thesis is focused on the description of the physical layer of optical backbone networks, where there is a description of multiplexers, DWDM technology and optical elements. This thesis also includes designs of software defined optical network with implementation of extended header for transmission in the optical domain. Outcome of this thesis are simulations, which include synchronization between the elements during initialization of software defined optical network with occurence of delay. At the end, the thesis is focused on simulations of the actual data transfer within the proposed software defined optical network.
Testing of optical networks
Šimoník, Jan ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe testing of optical networks physical layer by norms and recommendations (CSN, ITU and RFC). The first chapter provides a description of the individual optical fibers, their division and a brief description of each type. In the next part of this thesis, the methods and procedures for testing the various parameters of optical networks are described, according to specific standards and recommendations. The issue of testing quality of services is also described, primarily focused on triple play services, which are operated at optical access networks. The following is a description of the issue of access and transport networks, a draft of methodology for testing the physical layer of these networks is given. In conclusion, there is a chapter describing the practical measurements made on a passive optical network. In the annexes of this thesis the limit parameters of optical fibers used for the measurements and draft of the content for measuring protocol are listed.
Connection simulation between master and end unit in passive optical networks
Moravcová, Klára ; Kočí, Lukáš (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of this bachelor’s thesis is to introduce and explain the standards of passive optical networks, their way of establishing connection between master unit and end unit in a network, as well as creating a working simulation in Matlab. The first chapter of this thesis covers the description of optical networks. In the chapter, individual layers of the GPON standard by ITU-T and the EPON standard by IEEE are described. The process of an ONU unit activation towards the OLT unit of these standards is covered in detail. The thesis describes the following standards: EPON, GPON, 10G-EPON, XGPON and NG-PON2. The practical part covers the simulations of the mentioned standards, which are displayed in the form of graphs. The results are interpreted through comparison of the graphs with various input parameters (number of connected ONU units and the length of the distribution network) with a final evaluation of these results.
Integration of services in industrial Ethernet networks
Mytyska, Kamil ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with industrial Ethernet. Industrial Ethernet refers to the usage of standard Ethernet protocols using rugged connectors and heat-resistant switches in industrial automation and process control. Components used in industrial environments must be resistant to high temperatures, dust, humidity and vibration. The usage of optical fibers in industrial environment reduces the problems of electrical noise and provides electrical isolation to prevent equipment damage. The first part describes the physical implementation of Industrial Ethernet, the physical implementation of other components, Ethernet system features real-time, overview of standards and usage of virtual networks. The work is processed with solutions integrating multiple disparate services in one industrial Ethernet network using VLAN. This is processed by using of simulation program Packet Tracer and then the solution is processed in real network connection with three borrowed industrial switches Moxa, B&B Electronics and Ruggedcom. Further there is processed operation during the communication between devices using Wireshark which describes the TCP connection, sending an HTTP packet and a separate data transfer. As the last part there is mentioned evaluation of five industrial switches from companies B&B Electronics, Cisco, Moxa, N-Tron and Ruggedcom.
Comparison of simulation programs for the design of optical data networks
Dufek, Michal ; Horváth, Tomáš (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with comparison five simulation software for optical network. In each simulation program will be simulated optical transmission of NRZ coding at speeds 1\,Gbit/s and 10\,Gbit/s. Subsequently is carried out comparison of results of simulations and on this basis to compare simulation programs.
Analysis of Sharing Networks
Blažek, Libor ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Horváth, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is the design and implementation of the protocol in OPNET Modeler. In this work will be developed all the elements have been used no default settings. In the first chapters, making simulation are defined packets. Another chapter consists of a block diagram of workstations, which are assigned to function blocks. The central process is created by the process model, also for the router. The individual elements are inserted into a variety of elements and subsequently used in the simulation. Connection is a new service that has been defined separately. One of the simulations will be created on a smaller scale and the other on a global scale with more features.
