Vývoj zemědělství na Orlickoústecku s důrazem na vybraný zemědělský podnik
Vaňous, Jaroslav
Bachelor`s thesis dwells on the origin of agriculture in the world and advancing expansion of agriculture into Europe and the Czech Lands. The goal of the thesis was to study professional literature on agriculture, its origin in connection with social situation in Orlickoústecko in the context of Pardubice Region and the Czech Republic. Next, the development of farming, technologies and employment in agriculture in Orlickoústecko are dealt with. Essential moments influencing the development of agriculture in the Czech Lands notably in the area of the Cooperative in Sloupnice are mentioned. The practical part is formed by initial information about the region and the district where ZD (Farm Cooperative) Sloupnice is located, and by elaborate description of the origin and functioning of the enterprise chosen. In the 1950s under the socialist regime small cooperatives were set up in every village, and most villagers were employed there. In the 1980s those cooperatives unified into one with the headquarters in Sloupnice, and since the 1990s the whole cooperative has been called ZD Sloupnice. The unified enterprises were described in the thesis from the historical point of view, and the cooperatives in question are: JZD Řetůvka, JZD Přívrat, JZD Němčice, JZD Vlčkov, JZD Řetová, JZD Sloupnice. The data obtained were analysed in the form of graphs, tables and organization diagrams. It follows from the data from annual reports, yearbooks and information provided by the management of the cooperative that despite harder work in submontane conditions, the yields are competitive with climatically better areas owing to constantly improving procedures and technologies. The history and affiliation of the subsidiary Řeznictví Sloupnice s.r.o. (The Butchery Sloupnice Ltd.), which follows up with livestock production of the cooperative perfectly, are described in the thesis.
Praktické využití technologie pásového zpracování půdy v zemědělském podniku
Vaňous, Jaroslav
The diploma thesis deals with the characteristics of maize, one of the most widely grown cereals in the world. Depending on the tightening of European legislation, there is an increasing emphasis on protecting soil from water erosion. For this reason, we are looking for ways to grow widescreen crops on erosion-endangered soils. One of the possibilities is to use the technology of Strip-till, which comes from North America. The main part of the thesis is devoted to the establishment of pilot-run experiments using the Strip-Till technology, their comparison with the conventional full-scale processing and evaluation of results. Finally, the economic demands of the technologies used are calculated and the results are compared with the findings of other authors. All experiments were carried out in the cadastre of the Agricultural Cooperative in Sloupnice using its own technology. The results serve the company as a feedback on the use of Strip-Till in the erosion-threatened conditions in which the farm operates.

Recent history of the Czech sports journalism from the perspective of former members of the Sports Journalists' Association
Rybář, Pavel ; Vaňous, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Houda, Přemysl (referee)
The heart of this thesis consists of life stories narrated by former as well as current sports journalists and it focuses on sports journalism as a profession in political and social contexts. The first part gives an example of theories which deconstruct the myth of sport as an apolitical phenomenon. The second part reconstructs the history of public appearances of sport by examining attitudes, values and desires of interviewees. Using the snowball sampling technique -- recruitment of future subjects from among their acquaintances -- the researcher processes memories of eight interviewees whose information is classified into four main topics. Those include answers to under what conditions interviewees made a decision on their occupation, which sports they were concerned with, what reputation those sports had, what constraints they faced in their job, and what other unexpected roles their profession implies. As a whole, this text describe sports journalism as sine qua non for an outset of the tendency which began to grow during the 1950s in Czechoslovakia -- the attraction extending beyond the leisure activity and the top level sport gaining in popularity.

Comparison of Democratic Consolidation in Former Eastern Bloc
Bárta, Vít ; Houda, Přemysl (advisor) ; Vaňous, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to numerically evaluate democratic consolidation in Eastern European countries of the former Eastern Bloc. To compare these countries with each other and decide which of these countries can be considered as consolidated democracies. Secondary aim is to find which factors supported this consolidation or at least correlate with it. Theoretical basis of this work is Wolfgang Merkel's theory of democratic consolidation. He divides democratic consolidation into four levels: constitutional consolidation, representative consolidation, behavioral consolidation and democratic consolidation of the political culture. Each level of democratic consolidation is numerically expressed, with usage of Bertelsmann's transformation index data, separately for all states in two-year intervals since 2005 to 2015. Based on that, overall democratic consolidation is calculated. Therefore, we can compare countries between each other and in time. Correlation between factors supporting consolidation and overall democratic consolidation is expressed by Pearson correlation coefficient. This work is beneficial in creating and describing method, which can be used for numerical expression of democratic consolidation in any state since 2005 to 2015 without author's subjective influence. Another benefit is...
