NMR STUDY OF THE PHASE TRANSITION IN POLY(VINYL METHYL ETHER) SOLUTIONS
Spěváček, Jiří ; Hanyková, L.
The possibilities of NMR spectroscopy in structural characterization of polymers in solution and solid state are discussed on specific examples. Results obtained by NMR methods in investigation of the phase transition (collapse) in poly(vinyl methyl ether) aqueous solutions are also presented.
Studium biodegradovatelných směsí škrob/polykaprolakton metodami NMR spektroskopie pevného stavu
Spěváček, Jiří ; Brus, Jiří ; Divers, T. ; Grohens, Y.
1H relaxation times T1(H) and T1.rho.(H) were measured via 13C detection on starch/polycaprolactone (PCL) and starch formate/PCL blends to characterize their morphology (domain size). From the results it follows that while blends starch/PCL are phase-separated on the scale 20-110 nm, starch formate/PCL blend is homogeneously mixed on this scale. Therefore formylation of starch significantly improves its miscibility with PCL.
Determination of polysaccharides structure by spectroscopic methods
Synytsya, A. ; Blafková, P. ; Čopíková, J. ; Spěváček, Jiří
Possibilities of vibrational and NMR spectroscopy in structural characterization of polysaccharides were illustrated on examples of several polysaccharide systems (pectins, chitin, chitosan, chitosan lactate, carrageens, chondroitinsulphate).
Structural characterization of chitin/glucan complexes from the mushroom Pleurotus sp. and Aspergillus niger mycelium
Spěváček, Jiří ; Synytsya, A. ; Brus, Jiří ; Ederová, J. ; Čopíková, J.
Structure and composition of insoluble chitin/glucan complexes isolated from the mushroom Pleurotus spstructure, solid state NMR and Aspergillus niger mycelium were characterized by a combination of solid-state 13C NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and thermal methods.
Structure characterization of glucanes by 13C NMR spectroscopy
Spěváček, Jiří
The principles of high resolution solid state 13C NMR spectroscopy are explained in this contribution. Some possibilities of this method in the structural characterization of glucans and their derivatives are demonstrated on examples of cellulose, chitin, chitosan and chitin/glucan complexes.
Temperature phase transition in poly(N-isopropylmethacrylamide)/D.sub.2./sub.O solutions as studied by .sup.1./sup.HNMR method
Starovojtova, L. ; Hanyková, L. ; Ilavský, Michal ; Spěváček, Jiří
.sup.1./sup.H NMR spectroscopy has been applied to the analysis of the structural-dynamic changes during temperature-induced phase transition in non-ionized and ionized poly(N-isopropylmethacrylamide) solutions in D.sub.2s/sub.O. It was found that formation of compact globular-like structures during the phase transition is independent of polymer concentration for non-ionized samples.
