Utilization of clays with low sintering temperature in brick technology
Sláma, Jakub ; Skotal, Zbyněk (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on the use of the low sintering clays as additives in brickmaking. Their main use in the brick industry is mainly in the production of facing bricks and roof tiles. They are used for their very good sintering ability even at relatively lower firing temperatures. This feature is the most important for frost resistence of brick fragment. The theoretical part contains a summary and characteristic features of clays occurring in the Czech Republic and abroad. Further their requirements and laboratory testing of brick clay. In the practical part was conducted market research where are outlined available low sintering clays that may be proposed for use in brick fragment based on declared sintering. An experiment was performed in the next part of bachelor thesis to assess the effect of using low sintering clay in terms of particular brick factory in the Czech Republic (Tondach Šlapanice).
Determination of rheological properties of kaolin - calcium aluminous cement
Zogata, Stanislav ; Keršnerová, Lucie (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This thesis deals with study of the rheological behavior of kaoline and calcium aluminous cement. The thesis describes the properties of the individual raw materials and interactions of kaoline and calcium aluminous cement with water. The experimental part focuses on the effect of individual plasticizers into a suspension with varying ratios of kaoline and calcium aluminous cement.
The Effect of Deflocculation of Raw Materials Mixture for Porcelain Body Based on Calcium Aluminous Cement
Kašíková, Milada ; Keršnerová, Lucie (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the liquefaction alumina cements using suitable species plasticizers. The practical part will be compared results liquification aluminous cement and kaolin, which is used in the traditional ceramics.
Mineralizers Using in the Silica Materials Production Process
Maňák, Jan ; Sokolář, Radomír (referee) ; Nevřivová, Lenka (advisor)
Silica bricks is a refractory material whitch is used mainly in glass furnaces, coke oven bateries and hot blast stoves. Silica bricks constitute of the crystalline phases cristobalite, tridymite, glass phase and unconverted quartz. Content of these phases influences eventual properteis of silica bricks. This thesis deals with influence of the different kind of mineralizers, method of homogenization and length of firing on the content of these phases and eventual properties of silica bricks.
The Possibilities of innovation of the sanitary ceramics body
Čech, Tomáš ; Chudomelka, Josef (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to assess the possibility of increasing utility properties shard of sanitary ceramics. Description the current production of sanitary ceramics. Assessing of the impact steatite admixture into existing raw material mixture for the production of sanitary ceramics firing body characteristics (porosity, strength, thermal expansion) using the available scientific literature. Proposition the optimal dose of steatite material into the raw mixture. Evaluation of physical and mechanical properties of the resulting products of this recipe.
Utilization of Nanofibres in the Traditional Ceramics Body
Sedláček, Daniel ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the current knowledge about ceramic composites with nanofibers. So far, most research focused on the reinforcement of hi-tech ceramics, such as carbides and nitrides, however, this traditional ceramics left behind. Due to the improving the efficiency of production of nanofibers and thus a drop in prices, companies consider their use even in a cheaper ceramic materials. Reinforcement of traditional ceramic shard could theoretically improve many characteristics, but there are absolute minimum of practical researches.
Forsteite and the Possibilities of its Synthesis
Nguyen, Martin ; Keršnerová, Lucie (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to characterize the most important properties of forsterite and its practical use. Theoretical part contains characteristics of individual raw materials, which are used for synthesis of forsterite and the assessment of raw material possibilities of Czech Republic for the production of forsterite. The main focus is placed on the detailed research of published results of the most used technologies for synthesis of forsterite. At the end of theoretical part is the design of the most suitable production technology for forsterite in the Czech Republic. The practical part verifies suggested design of the production technology for forsterite synthesis together with a comparison of basic parameters of laboratory prepared forsterite with published parameters. X-ray diffraction analysis will be used for the evaluation of purity of the synthesized forsterite.
Brickmaking grogs and their thermo-dilatometric determination
Hladík, Václav ; Skotal, Zbyněk (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
Main focus of the bachelor´s thesis is use of rock waste fraction as an alternative raw material to traditional quartz sand. Effect of this substitution on ceramic produts properties is outlined. Key properties are water absorption, flexural strength and compressive strength. The practical part traces the potential of alternative grogs. Their behavior is monitored by DKTA analysis, water absorption tests and strength tests. Thesis includes author´s suggestion of an optimal grog based on publications and results of the practical part.
Contemporary technology of clay bricks production - possibilities and perspectives
Polláková, Lenka ; Pavelka, Oldřich (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
In the theoretical part, this diploma thesis deals with brick production, basic raw materials for brick production and the technological process of production itself. It also focuses directly on the fired brick, its legislative requirements and manufacturers who currently produce this brick in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The possibilities of current manufacturers are assessed in the practical part, especially in terms of salinity, mineralogical composition and behavior during firing of their production mixtures. As last the optimal firing temperature of the available mixtures is designed to achieve ideal parameters as frost resistence, strenght, appearance etc.
Effect of calcite content in brick clays on the properties of fired body
Šafaříková, Hana ; Stančík,, Hynek (referee) ; Sokolář, Radomír (advisor)
This master´s thesis is focused on the use of primary raw materials (clays) in the brick manufacturing. These soils differ mainly CaO contect and it most often in the form of calcite. Diversity of soils is manifested primarily in the mineralogical composition after firing and the existence of anorthite in the calcium clays. In the practical part I am trying to define the optimal type of soil suitable for the production of masonry units.
