DIFFERENT APPROACHES OF WORKING ON ROLES WHICH IS BASED ON THE TEXT AS A VERSE OR THE TEXT AS A PROSE

The theme of my thesis is ?Different approaches of working on roles which is based on the text as a verse or the text as a prose.? The contens was about the possibilities of actor´s approaches to the role and of the work with text through the personal experience. Students have met drama in verse and drama in prose during their studies at DAMU. The thesis is a personal reflection of the rehearsaling of several plays and learning about the importance of knowledge which helps to professional development of the author. According to the three most important roles (?Hippodamie?, ?Zuzana? in the performance Kříž u potoka and ?Alexandra? in Markéta, dcera Lazarova), the author came up with this subtitle of work: "Meeting with Hippodamie, Zuzana and Alexandra, or all is always in the process or it's about the truth." The second part of the subtitle was set because of the presence of these two themes ?the process and the searching for eternal truth.
ACTOR´S STYLIZATION AND PSYCHOLOGICAL REALISM - ACTING MOTIVATION AND CHOICE OF MEANS OF EXPRESSION

The thesis focuses on actor´s self-knowledge throught the role of Markéta Lazarová from the performance Markéta, dcera Lazarová and the role of Nina Zarečná from the performance Racek. Choice of this contradictory styles of staging, actor´s attitude and motives, this facts allow to know itself better, to know actor´s needs and actor´s acting absence. With this annual distance it´s clearly seen that this work is not only the thesis, but also very important self-reflection , which wouldn´t have been if it wasn´t writen. Here is summed up the complete work on roles, from the very beginning, over the first reading, over the stage rehearsals to the general rehearsals and the first curtain. It´s pointed out the importance of actor´s preparation, the inspiration from other resources such as movies, literary works, music etc. This work is completed with practical advice from studies and from reading of literary works: Můj život v umění by S.K.Stanislavskij, Herecká technika by M.Čechov, O herecké technice by V.O.Toporkov, Herec a jeho cíl by D.Donnellan, Viděno z druhé strany rampy by Radovan Lukavský. What is also mentioned here is actor´s present job in Moravavské divadlo Olomouc, where is the best oportunity to try experience from the studies at DAMU.
Emotional acting resources to find means of expression

Emotion accompanies every human mental events, is as old as humanity itself. Emotion discontinues emotion, as soon as you create on it a clear and distinct idea. It leads to behaviour, while the intellect leads to conclusion. When emotion prevails, brain can not do much. Actor has to be able control his emotion! I would like to draw near the very meaning of emotion in my work. I suspend the other meanings associated with it.Where emotion is created, what helps me to process it and so-called filter it?
My Struggle from Slovak Language to The Czech Language on The Stage

In my graduation thesis entitled ?My struggle from the Slovak language to the Czech language on the stage? I made an attempt to describe in detail my personal experiences with learning Czech. Its proper ?mastery? has been and still is important for the actor?s performance. An awareness that, being an actor, I cannot allow myself any imperfection was my main driving force while studying this new language. This thesis should under no circumstances be understood as a ?manual for the Czech language? for a Slovak person. I simply describe my observations and (often internal) thoughts that I came to realise during my studies at DAMU and Czech language study. A recapitulation of four study years at the Faculty of Theatre from the ?struggle with the Czech language? point of view has been a pleasant hindsight and a realization of some substantialities. The whole process was benefited by staying in the Czech environment, my ear for music, and above all,as odd as it sounds, my desire to become a good actor.
