FFT and FEM
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
The contribition deals with applications of Fourier series, Fourier integral and Fast Fourier transform to stress wave phenomena in solid mechanics.
Když dobrá shoda nestačí
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
Paper deals with assessment of accuracy, credibility and reliability of results obtained by analytical, experimental and numerical methods within the scope of computational mechanics.
Rudolf Brepta – his life, work and people around him
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
The paper is devoted to life of Rudolf Brepta and to his scientific achievements. A survey of his investigation deeds, dedicated to propagation of stress waves in solids, is presented as well as contributions of his colleagues and co-workers. The analytical methods he used are briefly sketched out and a few typical results are shown
Verifikace výsledků numerické dispersní analýzy na úloze rázu dvou elastických válců
Gabriel, Dušan ; Plešek, Jiří ; Kolman, Radek ; Valeš, František ; Okrouhlík, Miloslav ; Šraml, M.
The numerical dispersion of two-dimensional finite elements was studied. The outcome of this dispersion study was verified by the numerical and analytical solutions to the longitudinal impact of two cylindrical bars. It was shown that the quadratic elements showed better accuracy than the linear ones.
Numerical test of dispersion behavirour of quadratic finite elements
Kolman, Radek ; Plešek, Jiří ; Okrouhlík, Miloslav
Numerical tests are run on the dispersion theory established for qudratic finite elements.
Effect of time integration on dispersion properties of quadratic finite elements in elasto-dynamics
Kolman, Radek ; Okrouhlík, Miloslav ; Plešek, Jiří
In the paper, the dispersion relationships of plane quadratic finite elements for central difference method and Newmark's method are derived. The graphs for the mesh density and time step check wtih respect the dispersive behaviour are presented.
Numerical methods in mechanics of solids. Part 2 - Generalized eigenvalue problem
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
This paper is the second part of educational series dedicated to numerical methods in mechanics of solids with a special emphasis to finite element method. The paper devoted to the solutiojn of algebraic equations preceded it. It is assumed that the f
Assessment of rock drilling efficiency
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
Different percussive rock drilling processes are described and their efficiency analysis is provided.
Elastic stress waves in solids, limits of analytical and finite element approaches
Okrouhlík, Miloslav
The contribution warns of deadly traps and pitfalls that should be avoided when compariring analytical and numerical solutions of stress wave propagation problems.
